This may not help, but...

When making beer, we are deal with HUGe quanties of dissovled solids (yeast) and floccation is critical to clear beer. There are a ton of flocculants on the market, but one in particular comes to mind as a possibility. Polyclar is a finely ground PVC powder. It would assist with floccation, and be trapped by a sand filter.

One thing though, flocculants help with dissolved solids and soap is a mixture not a colloid.
