Yes, we did use the 1/2" "ag" hose that came with our tree spraying rig. I had already ordered the 5/8" but it came in several days after the rig. Monster difference.

If the flow of the 3/4" is to the 5/8" as the 5/8" is to the 1/2", then we could shoot from across the street instead of from the bucket or the ground. I never doubted your larger hose advice since I had seen all the ag charts for distance with different PSI vs. GPM vs. hose ID and length vs. tip size.

Our next pump will be higher gpm and will have the 3/4". I've said before that we'll use the smaller pump and lower gpm with the bucket truck applications (less than half the jobs) and will use the "hoss" for ground and gutter height work. We don't walk on roofs unless we get a flat-ish 3 or 4:12 porch to stand on to shoot high dormer sides on 12:12 Williamsburgs, etc.
