Listen up Canadians, the next time one of your peace loving beatnick neighbors puts an Anti-US President bumper sticker on there car, do me a favor and smack them in the head... reason being;

I'm driving home from work on Weds. afternoon and a car basically cuts me off on the thruway to make matters worse it's a women driving a car with Quebec plates (possible French Canadian) andit's adorned with a bumper sticker that reads "more trees less bush". Now in my humble opinion most Americans will defend the right to free speech and the right to have a different opinion from each other. But I'm not of the school in which "outsiders" can come to MY country and bash MY president. Hell I don't even know Canada's President, mostly because Canadians do a better job of staying out of fights than the Swiss do (unless it's in a hockey game).

But enough of that, just do me a favor and straighten these Jack ***** out before they decide to come across the border, cut me off and insult MY President!

I think I'm going to quit pressure cleaning and hang out at the border.......just slapping silly Quebecois upside the head. NOT!

You are right, the Cannucks do a good job staying out of other people's business but isn't it the American government which seems to have put their noses into almost every conflict around the world for ever? So if YOUR president has the right to invade (not visit) other countries to force YOUR ideologies and lifestyles onto the people then where does anyone get off being offended when someone does the same you. (althought the case of this bumper sticker doesn't even begin to resemble 'the same')

Having said that, I think our concerns should be more directed at our immigrating (using that term lightly) friends form the south, whom tend to believe that they have the right to instill laws regarding a second language and make demands in OUR country, rather then one silly Quebecois (or more) from the north.

ps: I think this thread has gone a bit off topic

We, The US have become the Worlds Police Force because of history. Remember WWI and WWII. We tried to stay out of it, but the Germans were just gobbling up everthing in sight. Also after WWI the US decided that Europe's list of repurcussion's would be too harsh and leads to problems later on (hence the rise of Hitler). And since then , WE (the US) have been the lead supplier of men and money to the UN peacekeeping missions.

But that aside, I won't be riding through Canada with Anti-Canuck bumper stickers on my car, I find that would be down right rude.

And yes it's a little off topic, but still "Canadian" in nature! But seeing as you now live in the States, and make a decent living here, You must agree that WE Americans (maybe you're a citizen now?) treat our neighbors from the north pretty well. How many Americans actually live and Work in Canada, as oppossed to the other way around?

I agree with you James but I am a realist and my opinion is that there are a lot of things happening in this world (and have happened) that WE (Americans) should have kept our noses out of.
The truth is that capitalism drives this government to do things of the such and that war represents revenue.
Revenue into the pockets of the politicians and the people who make it happen. It's a shame but it's the way it works.

It may be rude but who knows if she hasn't got dual citizenship? It could very well be that she contributes to American economy more than some American born Americans. (who knows)
Also, lets not forget that just because you live in Canada it does not mean the American government's actions have no impact on your life. And ofcourse the most obvious of all is that a great deal of Americans agree with her sticker.

I recall reading an article ( I belive it was in the Times or Fortune Small Business....something like that) a few years back and it stated that more and more Americans are moving to Canada permanently. It turns out they've found you can achieve the 'American Dream' a lot easier among the polar bears. (unfortunately I don't remember any of the statistics to back this..........I'd love to find that article) Still, I like the sunshine.

This has become an interesting discussion. I like it.

Oh yea Paul is not a Hockey player..I could probably skate rings around him..at least a few years back in my hockey days maybe I could have..Today the creeky knees have kept me off skates..for years.

She very well may have been contributing to our economy, but she cut me off. But Balazs, I'm not really current on Canada's economy right now But I'm sure it's not in the crapper. And if that's the case and if The US politics influence it that much, then what's the point. Good or Bad??

I sincerely hope that you don't believe your own BS. I would say most people from any part of the world right now would say that those few words you just wrote down are very arrogant.

To the moderator that would be reading this, it would be completely acceptable that you delete this whole thread. I just erased at least 5 pages I just wrote on the subject of the little quote on top. Yes, it really pi**ed me off to think that somebody could be so full of himself. I'm not anti American or anything, but not to crazy about your president either as is 99.9% of the planet earth, I guess I would be just an average guy...EH! But I would not go around with a bumper sticker advertizing it either, but you did say it was on a car with Quebec plates, what do you expect (they're different - Canuck joke).
