one of my helicopters for sale 17kobo - Mar 5th, 08, 04:15 PM

I know this is not PW related sale, but thought I would offer it to anyone here on TGS interested in getting into the world of flight before I hit the aero market.
My 97 mini 500 is for sale for 17kobo. It is balanced and certified at experimental level. Low hours and near perfect shape. It will need PM since my father passed away almost 2 years ago.

This is a great inexpensive way to get into the air. It is in southern Mo. in my Father's hanger out of the elements. Plus there is no room in my gargage for it since I already have my other helicopter in it. It has been hangered since it was built. It's the one in my avatar. If you are interested or know anyone who is please give me a call. It is a one place (one seater ) copter. 586 rotax ( about 70 hp) and it will get you there at about 125mph. Again this is in excellent shape and hangar kept.
Thx.

Nah - I don't have more room - it's already taken up by my Pazmany 3/4 storch.

well you know I was deciding on a used chopper or a new surfboard. I think though since I don't fly I'll just have to stick with another board. I appreciate the offer.

The CFO said NO! Just out of curiosity, what does it take to get a license to fly a helicopter, and what is the maintenance on it? I have alwys wanted to fly a helicopter, and live less than a mile from a city airport. I could have a ton of fun with that...

Hi Scott,
Flight training can run as high as 275.00 per air hour. But not required for this craft if it is kept at certified experimental level.

Nutshell, about 5k for training at experimental status. It is best to get "some" training simply to understand the way this craft operates. This is not a high performance craft, more of a slow flyer cruise for fun.
That's the beauty of this bird at experimental level, it simply does not require that much to get airborne.

If you were training on a robinson 22 or 44 you can expect to spend around 15k to 20k get license and certs.

Some of the aussies just don't even bother.
It's not required for this craft.
Those specs vary of course here in the states.
But it is always better to get "some " training.

After all it is still a helicopter, beit a small one. But it can take your life if you are not sure of your skills.

You should at least get your CFO to autho an intro flight at the airport to be sure that is what you really want to do.
Maybe 50-300 bucks for an intro, just guessing. It's worth every penny though. Thx for the response.

I have already done a flight, but did not get to actually control the chopper. It was awesome. Never thought I could get into it for so little.

Maybe I need to do some more talking...

Kyle, you must be based at Ft. Hood. The largest Military base in the world. I grew up in Cove, right down the road. Thanks for your service.
My Dad was 1st Cav. W4.

Sold the bird a couple of months back, and it is a one place.

Thanks again for your service to our country.

With the older vets....... the heli is like an extension of their body.
They have been in so many remarkable situations, with jungles and tracers flying right at them. Those guys are simply incredible,AND YOU'RE INSANE TO FLY WITH THEM. Kidding, you were probably in the best of company.

SOLD,SOLD ,SOLD.
