Advice on Swabby 48 or similar ? - Mar 18th, 07, 10:02 PM

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and am in the pressure washing business in Australia.

I've just seen the Swabby 48 for the first time on the net and would like to know what experience you guys can share on it ?

I have a recovery setup with water recycling and a small 18inch prochem floor tool. I want to clean faster with recovery.

The U.S seems light years ahead with technology and would love to learn more from you all.

Any advice on the Swabby48 or similar would be much appreciated.

Cheers Ben

Hey Ben,
I was at Bill Clemmons shop when he was having two swabby set-ups delivered I believe to your country. The trailers were narrower then here because of the laws there. I'm almost positive it was Australia where these rigs were going. Absolutely beautiful set-up.
Go to this site Home and either email or talk to Bill Clemmons directly since he is the one who designs these rigs. You can also tell him that John Tornabene told you to call him and that I was telling you about the rigs Bill was sending to I believe your country.

As for me I bought one and it will be delivered to me next month. I'm sold on how it works and the technology behind it. You can see my website that Beth from this Board design for me about my new start-up company with the swabby set-up. Pressure washing and cleaning concrete, building washing, commercial power washing, EPA Clean Water Act reclaimation and capture compliance in New York - Clean Up America

I hope this helps mate.

Hi John,

Thanks for the info, your new site looks awesome, love the movie on the swabby really informative.
I'd really like to buy just the cleaning part of the system (the motorised/ride on part).

Are they readily available and what sort of money is the unit with no trailer or recycling ?

What are you using vacuum wise to recover water when your not using the swabby ie: are you using a blower set up ?

Any recomendations would be appreciated.

Thanks again Ben

Ben,
I'm just now starting to get into full blown reclaiming. Up until recently the most I did as far as being environmentally compliant was to redirect water from going down a storm drain by using those pool cover bags that you can fill with water. My concern is when I'm cleaning commercial flatwork which I've been doing for around 8+yrs to start and be environmentally compliant as best as I can which lead me to the swabby set-up.

To buy the swabby set-up here Bill Clemmons is only selling it as a Franchise. Over seas my guess is that he is not at this time selling them as a franchise set-up so you may be able to buy them seperately. There not cheap but they do the job fast and they are EPA compliant which is a big thing here.

Your best bet is to call Bill and see what his arrangements are in your country. He can give you all the info you need plus the shipping cost.

If you want to get some other info about reclaiming and what others do you can put reclaiming in the Search button on this bulleting board.

The swabby set up is using the Steel eagle Fury vacuum system, so yes it is a blower set up. Unless it has changed, it is a Sutorbilt #4.

Here are some pictures of my Clean and Recovery setup. We use a 5MP Sutorbilt blower so we can have 2 vacuum setups using 10GPM working at the same time.
So we can use a surface cleaner using vacuum and a wand with a Vacuberm which also uses vacuum at the same time. To be EPA compliant in the USA is very big and we are proud of the performance of this big rig. As Cujo says "Cheap and good never comes in the same package"
We had the unit in Fort Worth Texas at the RT at Delco this weekend. Jim Langstra from Steel Eagle tested it with the VP from Delco and the extra vacuum and the almost 80 HP from the 2 engines is just one of the points that really impressed them.
We have a 150deg + rise in hot water from a big burner as well. Everything built super duty here in the USA.
I have added more pictures to the slide show to try and show more of what this rig has.

We have multiple possible uses for this rig and because its a Clean and Recovery setup people can use the rig 12 months of the year even in a freezer room.
I have listed in numerous places a few of the specifications we boast and will gladly furnish them for you or anybody else as well. I have a representative in South Africa which is about the closest to you.
Slideshow of pictures, photos, and videos, from webshots

I am originally from South Africa and I hope to see a SA / Aus final in the Cricket World Cup. I am based in Atlanta Georgia - if you have plans to visit the cricket then I could give you a demo in Atlanta.

Hi John,
I spoke with Bill today he has a guy in Aust. already dealing with the full swabby setup. I was wanting to buy direct from the states as I already bring some gear over.
Is there any other resellers of the swabby ?

Thanks for all your advice

Ben
Sunbrite in Lawrenceville GA has a Swabby only - you can of course use any recovery system with it. Ask for Tracy,Pete or Nicole.

Rob,

Your rig looks really impressive, it must have some serious suction. I love the idea of being able to run two recovery systems at once.
I'm looking at coming over to the states fairly soon and would definitely like to check out your equipment.

I didn't know we played cricket in the states, South Africa and us Aussies will be a great game.

I'd like more info on spec's etc about your rig, I'll send you a pm or feel free to pm with more info.

Thanks for all you help, this site is great.

Cheers Ben

I can only imagine why you might be selling a moneymaker like this....

SO why are you selling it?

Kevin-- go to my website Pressure washing and cleaning concrete, building washing, commercial power washing, EPA Clean Water Act reclaimation and capture compliance in New York - Clean Up America and click on the link of the swabby in action. Its an outdated video thats a couple of years old. The swabby is more high tech now then what you see in that video.

In case anyone is wondering there is two companies that have used my swabby at a nice fee. As for me I'm gearing up to go to a parking garage convention in the fall and after that I'll be that much closer to retirement where I will be sending out tons of mailers to find work for this high end set-up.
