Video of my Clean and Recovery rig. - May 19th, 08, 01:12 AM

This is a first take of our Clean and Recovery rig. Looking for pointers for what you would like to see in a video.(Hope the link works)
I did not do the video and would have liked to show more of the vacuum system. What is shown is 2 operators at one time. The 1st hose reel is fresh water, 2nd is HP hose with 2 take offs, the 3rd is filtered waste water being put onto the grass - well away from any drains. In fact I now recover and recycle my water. The 350' gray pipe is vacuum hose carried on the trailer. (extra 150' stays on the truck)

We do have 2 engines -30hp and a 38hp (but only the 30hp can be clearly seen)
Go easy now - video is harder to do than it looks...that being said we welcome all criticism - constructive or otherwise.

Before anyone gets uptight about a equipment promo video - its not meant to be one - I am a contractor in Atlanta GA. OK and I may want to put this on the www to show people what I do - when I get round to setting up my www, that is.

A vibrator switch! Nevermind, I don't want to know. If this is for potential cleaning customers, then I would think you want the focus on the cleaning rather than the equipment that they usually have no idea what anything does.
Edging with the wand and pushing it into the surface cleaner area to be vacuumed up and showing no water runoff would be a ideal thing to show.
Many people have no clue what a surface cleaner is, so showing a contrast in the concrete will explain everything.

Hello Rob, I don't understand the premise of the video, are you trying to sell equipment or just let people know you recover your own water? I looked at it as you are showing how easy it is to pull hose and set up the equipment. I also thought you have a Swabby or have I got you confused with another contractor in Atlanta?,if you do I would have thought you would have wanted to promo all your equipment doing the job together. IMHO I think potential customers want to see how WELL you clean and not so much how you clean. my .02 worth.

Thanks for the input - as I said in the first post I did not do the video but now see where the short comings are. I will do the next video and try and explain in pictures what I can accomplish with this unit. All different cleaning situations - freezer cleaning, indoor work flood clean up etc.

The vibrators are for keeping the internal filter clear when mud or very dirty water clogs the filter before being pumped out for re-cycling or disposal.

Now taking auditions for stunt doubles and gaffers (gotta get some of those) and lights camera action - take 2... anyone have a directors chair for me before I start...

The video was done by the guy that manufactured the unit for me - clearly more focus on the equipment than the functions. Yes I do recover water and no I don't have a swabby - Jeff is who you are thinking of.
As I said to Allan I have to do the video myself showing on video exactly what I can do without hauling everything all over the show. Demo's get jobs but cost money - I am leaning towards doing this instead of doing demo's.
Thanks again - I clearly have my work cut out for me to do this properly - its not as easy as it seems.
Rob

I think Rob you need to ask yourself what you’re selling.
We all know you want to clean and be represented as doing it responsibly.

Here would be my focus,

1. Actually show the machine cleaning something rather than at a distance.
2. Get a short section of hose clear so you can show people you’re actually recovering the water.
3. Maybe sub titles so the viewer gets what you’re trying to tell them.
4. Have the video answer some of the question they are automatically going to ask.
A. What do you do with the waist water?
B. Do you have the permits and licensing to handle it?
C. It’s that hot water?
D. What kind of chemicals are in that tank, and what chemicals are you using.
The list will go on and on, I realize you may be the narrator when you show the video. If you are then some of that is not going to be a factor.

Good Luck, call me if you have any question. My company has been making videos since 1996.

Rob,
I'd say looking at the video, you are showing a generic version of recovery. We as professionals know what you are doing. Your customer I believe needs to be lead down another road. Maybe simple, entertaining yet showing the benefits to them? The video is very good for someone that knows what you are doing. We always try to sell the customer the benefits of using us. Hope to see more. Thank You.

It depends on what drain it's going down.
