Question Water reclamation equipment - Aug 22nd, 06, 02:09 PM

Hello all,

I have only been in the business about 6 months now and have been reading a ton about everything. One thing that worries me is water reclamation. I have read a lot on it but am still wondering what kind of equipment is recommended and where do we go about getting it? Also, we have a 14 foot box truck and it is almost full now, so I guess we would have to get another trailer, which would be a pain in the you know what. So, I guess what my question is; is what kind of economical equipment do you guys recommend and where do we get it, and does anyone have any pictures of their setups? I know this is a sensitive subject and not everyone reclaims, but I feel that I am probably going to need to do it in the future. So, thanks for the help and I already used the Search function.

Thanks,

Just about all forms of recovery have been discussed here at least once. Using the search feature above, look up words such as recovery, reclaim, vacuum, vacuboom, fury, & sump.
What you buy truly depends on the type of work you want to do.

Some methds are easier than others, it is really dependent on how much you want to spend, what you want to wash, and how the property is set up. Vacubooms are good in most circumstances, however a custom built drain insert is much faster and more reliable but does not always work at all locations. If you are washing on gravel you may need a latimat or similar product. And of course there is the problem is hauling off the water. It is important to check your local regulations because each state is different. Foe example in Illinois you need a waste haulers permit, but in Wisconsin it is an unregulated waste so no permit is necessary.

My setup consists of a combination of custom drain inserts and a vacuboom for accounts without drains. For hauling the water I have a 16' enclosed trailer with 1100 gallons of tanks(old wash trailer). You will probably only need to haul back about a maximum of 50% of the water you use due to evaporation and other factors, so keep that in mind when sizing your recollection tank. Good luck, if you have any questions just give me a call and I will help all I can.
