I don't know dude, that building would scare me away. I just question whether or not you might get in over your head on a job like that, although I not aware of your level of experience with high rise cleaning either.
Maybe Jeff with JL Pressure Washing would be able to help you out a little. I believe he has cleaned some hi rise buildings. To me, the only right way to take on jobs like that is if you have personally worked for, or under, a company with experience cleaning this sorts of buildings so you can learn, and gain experience, without as much trial and error. Iclean4u,
The tallest bldg I have been on is 600 ft. That said,I was window cleaning, not p/w'ing.None the less,If you don't know how to professionally stage a job like this, you are risking your life. If you are experienced in these heights, make the adjustments(hose weight distance pressure loss, etc.) A swing stage(depending on the set up) can be a harrowing experience for any novice.Lots can happen. Can the rig withstand the extra weight of hoses? Do not be discouraged, victory is sweet. Be wise. Learn if you don't know, then go after it. Keep in mind ,building owners are notorious for requesting work that their buildings are not engineered for.Where is your water coming from,do they have legal tie downs for your safety lines? I like your ambition, but understand the monster you are dealing with. Concerning pricing....I would price this at at least $3.25/sq. I realize I may get scorned, but take into consideration your risk alone. I have no fear of heights, but work like this is apremium pricing affair. You set the market, drive it.If another company underbids you,so be it . Think of what the owners would charge to do it themselves, and go from there. OK,just my 2 cents. I would love to hear from anybody with experience p/w' ing this kind of building. Peerless Services 315.549.8448 Peerl@rochester.rr.com If it's dirty,Peerless is Fearless. |

Don,
Thanks for your advice,i have never been up that high and never will but i have guys that have been 35 stories washing windows.there are swing stage tie downs built in,the water supply is on top of the building and on top of the parking deck. I had one bid for $825,000.00 to do all of the project but i dont think the owners will pay $1.75 sf to do a parking deck and stairwells. |

They have never p/w at that height. The co that quoted 825k was charging 1.75 for ground work along with building work for 1.75 and i dont think no one will pay that for ground work.I have recieved some crazy prices for brick pavers but that is a little steep. Don do they get that kind of money for high rises in NY.

Iclean4u,
First ,you need a signature sir.Check out forum guidelines. I can't answer that question because I have yet to do any high rise p/w. What I can say is that you decide what your services are worth to you. That ,in my opinion,is what drives pricing. It makes some diffrence, taking into consideration your local market,as to what you can charge, but, again in my opinion,it is upon your shoulders to determine what the job is worth to you. Consider your expenses, your risk, and ,of course your profit. I don't know about you,but this is not a hobby. Don't rob your customers, but push the market. I am not that concerned with my competitors pricing. If they want to do it for less than I believe it is worth...let them. I provide a premium service at a premium price. The extent of my biz is window cleaning, but my p/w biz is steadily growing, applying the same pricing principles as I apply to my w/c pricing. Everything lies in the details. I am building ,just as you. Hope to hear from others with more exp. in this thought. Take care. P.S. Keep in mind that I live in the people's republic of New York. The bastards that are elected steal so much of my money that in order to live ,the prices I charge are so I can actually pay my bills and feed my family.Your situation is different.Consider and adjust to context.
