8 gpm - Aug 12th, 08, 09:01 AM

I want to get a 8 gpm skid but it seems most of them out there are 3000 psi I would like a 3500 psi machine with 115v burner. Is there much difference. also my local dealer sells Pressure Pro are they good machines?

Mine is 115 volt, but I agree with Gene, it makes more than twice the effect if you are used to 4 GPM.

I really, really like my Pressere Pro machine, no breakdowns yet (since I brought it online in May), and it still surprises me how fast the work is done.

What kind of price did you pay for it if you dont mind saying?

Does the 115 volt come with a generator or do you need one seperately?

Generator comes with it, I paid about what Bob at PT was asking, but I'm on pda right now so I can't look it up. I bought it during a free shipping sale.

I had planned on buying a Hydrotek machine, but Bob's customer service and attitude won out. Russ Johnson is another super-helpful guy to do business with, I'm sure there are others.

I've bought from Tracy at Sunbrite before as well.

I have the old-school skid, the newer ones have a smaller footprint, and I can see the utility in that. I have a 20' gooseneck enclosed, and sometimes it feels as cramped as a VW beetle in there!

Boca,

I have three hydroteks (8gpm hot, 5.6 gpm hot, 4.8 cold) They are all awsum and I have had to do very minimal repairs (I think one thermostat replacement a while ago)

I bought the pressure-pro 5.5 polychain belt drive that Doug Lucas advertised on this BBS last sunday. Picked it up on Monday, brought it home, changed the oil and pump oil put into service in my van.... I did have an 18 HP Kohler unit that I built out myself with a gearbox and 2021 pump - I have ran it for 4 years with no problem and the gearbox wore out (replaced it today). I will save it for a spare or ebay it out in the spring.

I will say that I have ran the pressure pro machine all day today and all day yesterday and the machine rocks, the only thing I dont like is the pressure unloader. It is a solid machine.

Just a note: If you can't buy it locally at a decent price, make sure you buy from a distributor who is available and willing to spend time with you and walk you through any repair. It isn't something that you can send back to get fixed.

The 8gpm unit does use a lot of fuel for the engine and the burner, but you make up for it with the speed of it's cleaning ability.
