Bus Shelter Maintenance Bid Help - Aug 21st, 08, 12:29 AM

Has anyone bid on these sort of jobs? I've looked on the internet and can't come up with anything. Here is the scope of work....

Empty 120 Trash Receptacles at 138 bus stops every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also responsible for removing graffiti, putting on new nuts/bolts if they are missing from the shelter. Power Washing will be done on a 'as needed' basis. I'm guessing once every 2 months.

Empty 59 other trash receptacles through out the city that are not in bus shelters every Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

I'd be responsible for paying for all materials used and dumping of the trash bags once collected.

I'd like to at least try and put in a decent bid but I'm by far no hack or lowballer.

Any help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Vince

Make sure you have a california contractors license, and know that you will be up against a HUGE company.

Don't underestimate the graffiti removal, and time involved. They get hit really hard around here, and I would imagine a large portion of time spent cleaning that up. You may need a trash haulers permit also. I believe the bus shelters in the Mpls. metro area are washed weekly (and poorly).
