hydrotek ant3c - Oct 6th, 08, 12:15 PM

just wanted to drop a note to group. I have been in pressure washing business since 1984, and should have known better. I needed a new surface cleaner and thought all the bells and whistles on the ant3c were neat. I got on their website and found a local dealer, called him and 16 hours later had not recieved an answer, called the company help line and they called the dealer and gave me another no. ordered one got it in friday, washed a front walk with it on Sat. the surface cleaner has a 1/2 gap at the bottom, guess what?, I bought a 1100 dollar plate glass window when it threw a pebble through it. Have always bought hydromotion in the past, they are floaters and have a brush skirt, never had this happen. Called hydrotek and asked if they had any possible solutions, such as a skirt to add to it, was told to contact local dealer, who I had to nearly beg to sell me one anyway, to see if he had an aftermarket solution.
I guess what I am trying to say is proceed with caution when dealing with a company that has little or no customer service before the sale, because you will not get it after the sale.
fyi I dealt with Tim at hydrotek, save your breath before you call them.

maybe this will help someone before they buy one.

That is some kind of sucky. I have had surfae cleaners before that had a gap, and never had one toss a rock. If you are really concerned about it, you might be able to get a thin strip of rubber, and rivet it to the outside of the surface cleaner, to catch, or slow down any rocks. Though it would suck to have to modify a brand new machine.

Have 2 hydrotek surface cleaners and never had a rock thrown from underside...One thing I do is wet the surface first to make sure all debri is gone before cleaning. If you put a skirt on it it may rub the surface on uneven concrete......

we made a skirt from some material that they use in cotton gins. cut slits on 1/4 inch centers. flexible it won't bind on concrete but will stop or at least slow down rocks, had to move wheels as they were already rubbing the sides and even more so after puting 1/4 in material around bottom
thanks
