    GPs to track employees

With the area we cover, 200 x 200 miles, keeping track of where my people are is becoming a real problem. What do you use to track employees?
Cell phones, GPS in the van?
Cost of unit and monthly cost?

You can enable a nextell on your account and can have it overt ( letting both users know it is tracking speed and location or covert allowing only the master user to see where otheres are and their speeds). No matter what you can enable it and see who is doing what if you are looking to hem up someone for screwing around on the clock.

Dmitri, is this something you have tried? If so, how is it working for you . What was the initial cost, and what is the monthly expense? Any problems with your people accepting Big Brother watchng?

We had a GPS tracking add-on to one of our Verizon phones, for the crew we thought was "milking the clock" It was about $20/month and sent fairly detailed reports and "stop alerts" anytime they stopped for more than 20 minutes.

I never utilized it much as those employees went away, and cancelled it after a few months.

    Might work for teenagers too!

    Douglas,

My friend had a lawn care service. We were talking one day about his employee was seen cutting lawn on the side for someone while on the clock so he told me about that system.I think monthly expence is like 60$/truck. He said you can actually watch the truck speed, where is it,see a log of the truck that shows how long he spent on a job and how long lunch break he took . I haven't used the system myself.I don't need to...yet anyways

Sam's club sells a GPS tracking device. I don't recall how much I paid for it, but it does work...just ask my daughter!

Blane has been experimenting with a system in his trucks. You might want to talk to him.
