User CP (User Control Panel)
This can be found at the top left hand side of the forums. In the UserCP, you have many options that help you control your forum use. Below is a list of the options and a short description of each.

• Edit Signature A signature is a piece of text that you would like to be inserted at the end of all your posts.

• Edit Email & Password This gives you the option to change the email address in which you will receive email notifications from Binary dreams. Also, you are given the option to change your password. NOTE: You must enter your current password before you can make any changes.

• Edit Profile Your profile helps others to get to know you. There are many fields in this option; you may be required to fill out some parts.

• Edit Options This option allows you to customize your settings (i.e. thread display options, date and time options).

• Edit Avatar Avatars are small graphics that are displayed next your username whenever you post. You can either upload an avatar from the internet, or from your computer.

• Edit Profile Picture You can have your photo displayed in your profile if you'd like. You can either upload your picture from the internet or from your computer.

Private Messages
Private messages (PM) work a little like email, but are limited to registered members of this forum. You may send a private message to a member of this forum by clicking the 'Send A Private Message' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel, or by clicking on a members username and selecting ‘Send a private message to (username).’ You can reach your Private Message Inbox by clicking the ‘Private Messages’ link in the welcome panel.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
FAQ is made up of information that can help members understand the basic functions of the forums. There is also a list of computer FAQ’s that is beneficial to members of this forum.

Members List
The Members List is an organized list of all the members that are registered here at Binarydreams. This list is sorted by username in alphabetical order.

Search Forums
There is a quick search feature on every page. There are two quick search features. One, located on the Navigation Bar allows you to search the entire forums. The other quick search feature you will find in a thread on the Navigation Bar above the first post. This allows you to search the thread only. Simply type what you are looking for into the dropdown box and click the ‘Go’ button. Or, if you want to perform a more detailed search, click the ‘Advanced Search’ link in the Search dropdown menu.

Quick Links
By clicking on Quick Links you are given a dropdown menu of several links. This feature allows you to get to a specific destination on the forums in a much quicker manner.

Thread Options
There are many tools used when making or replying to a thread. Below is a list & image of each tool and a short description of each.

• New Thread This allows you to make a new thread on the forums. Simply click the New Thread button, enter the title you wish your thread to have and the text you want your thread to be built upon. (In their specified destinations).

• Additional Options Before submitting a thread you are given the options to attach a file to your post, subscribe to the thread, or create a poll.

• Attach Files Members are allowed to attach files to their posts. You can do this while creating a thread, replying to a thread, or editing your post. Under ‘Additional Options’ click the ‘Manage Attachments’ button. A pop-up box will appear, giving you the option to browse your computer for the file. Once you find the file, click the ‘Upload’ button. Once your file is listed in the pop-up box, click close this window, and then Submit your post.

• Thread Subscription When subscribed to a thread, you will be notified of every post. You can select the type of notification you wish to receive. This option is selected to ‘Do not subscribe’ by default.

• Post a Poll This function allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread.

• Preview Post Members are given the option to preview their post before they submit it. This feature is helpful to find misspellings or to see what your post will look like when you submit it.

• Report Post To report a bad or offensive post, click the excitement mark at the top right hand corner of the offensive post. Moderators of that forum will be notified immediately.

• Quoting If you wish to quote another member, click on the ‘Reply’ button at the bottom right hand corner of the specified members post. Or if you wish to quote a member and write your reply in the Quick Reply Box, click the text image at the very lower right hand corner of the specified members post. NOTE: Make sure to check the ‘Quote Message in reply?’ box before you submit your reply.

See attached for how to post an attachment. Please also remeber we have the Gallery, and it helps to keep the database runing smoother and faster if we post photos there and put links in our posts to the photos in the gallery.
