No, it just doesn't go to the internet....just sits there like a bump on a log. When I right click I get nothing that offers opening. Most irritating I assure you.

Have you tried holding down the control button why you click on the link? Your antivirus settings may have gotten messed up. Try it.

Geez I hate computers. The control button thing did not work.
This is what it looks like in my inbox: "This thread is located at http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4795 Here is the message that has just been posted:" It's highlighted, underlined - everything looks normal except when I click on it, a dotted box goes around it and it goes NOWHERE! My cursor even turns into a little pointy finger like it should. Need more ideas PLEAZE! Okay, looked again and when I put the cursor on it, the address also appears on the bar at the bottom of my screen. What is UP!

Damn, now I remember why I use Gmail (google mail). Lets me do everything I want and I don't have to worry about viruses and it has its own spam filters!
I really like it because you can have folders for your different mail, well actually labels. Let say you get an invoice for a purchase. You apply a label to the email called Invoices. Now when you go to gmail, you will see all your emails. But on the left hand side under labels, click on Invoices and only those labels marked Invoices will appear. You can also send attachments, and bless their heart, it will even do spell checking for you. You can also do a mail searches and you have the choice to display images or not. You also have 2653 mb of storage. And I like the idea of checking my email from anywhere in the world. I would love to go to New Zealand to try it out. If anyone wants to try it out, PM me with your name and current email address and I will send you an invitation for Gmail as it is by invitation only. Smokey PS: links are active also |

Hi Celeste,
Found this on the web... Do you find that when you click a link in an email nothing happens? This can occur when another program has registered itself as the default application for browsing the web. If this program is not well written, or it has been uninstalled, outlook express cannot launch a browser window when you click on a link within an email. To remedy this problem you must re-register Internet Explorer as the default browser.

Celeste and all others who use Outlook Express, why not use the full Outlook program, much more powerful and can do so much more with it.
Now a word of advice to those that decide to upgrade to Outlook, do not, I repeat DO NOT uninstall or delete Outlook Express. Reason is even if you make Outlook your default mail program Microsoft Explorer still uses Outlook Express as the source. Trust me here as the first time I ever used Outlook I did just what I am saying not to do, nothing worked so I contracted MS and the techie asked me right off what I did with Outlook Express, I told him uninstalled it. He had me download and install it again and everything worked fine. Now my current headache is I cannot configure Outlook 2005 to work as 2002 does. They say there is a way, well so far I have not found the way so anyone know how to set it up the same way? |
