Laser Printer

Just bought the new inkjet lexmark x8350 not too long ago. Great multi-function machine but not the best for mass printing. Just takes too long with the frequent cartridge refilling. Any suggestions on a good laser printer (color or black) that would aid the painstaking effort of bulk mailing?

Take a close look at your cost, it is probably cheaper to have them done by a local shop.

bingo. I was thinking the same thing. My parents have a nice office type copy machine which I used to use to run off my flyers and mailers, but later found out that as long as I have many copies printed say 5,000 I could save quite a bit of money having them printed at Sir Speedy, not to mention I don't have to sit there for 5 hours running copies.

Lance, how much are they quoting you for per 5k?

last printing I had 4,000 printed, 2,000 were 2 color prints (132.00), and 2,000 were black and white (78.00).

That's where I have my bulk printing done. Much nicer than what you'd get printing at home.

For letterhead, small batches of letters with color/pictures, etc, I use the HP 3550 color laserjet. Works great!

With my refill kit I can print itleast 2700 in color and 3600 in black. Cost of color refill kit $45, cost of black refill $30 and 5000 sheets of paper for $40. A total of $115. Lance, glad you gave me those numbers. I'll happily pay the extra $95 to cut a few hours off of the mailing process and use those hours to get more work. BRILLIANT!
