Glock40,
In this age of Open Source Software, often there is no need to spend $ on good, productive software. I've been using GIMP for years under Linux, and the program has been ported to the Windows platform. Go to http://www.gimp.org/windows/ for more information. Never having used PhotoShop, I cannot vouch for feature comparison, but from what I have read, GIMP can do as much if not more in graphics manipulation. photo shop is available for a free trial from adobe for two weeks. Give it a shot and see how you like it. I find illustrator to be much better from marketing literature.

I believe that with most trial downloads you pay first then have 30 days to get a refund or keep the product. Corel is this way. Adobe is not, you have to only register with them. |

1 machine only, unless otherwise stated
A laptop is a machine just as a PC is a machine. The fine that 1 college paid, NOT the one I was at was 10k per PC, they had 3 computer labs. So it was around 60-80K. Way more than if they just bought the product. www.buycheapsoftware.com is a good site. |

I use 3 computers and am not superman, therefore I can only use 1 at a time. EULA be darned, I install on all 3 machines. I purchased the product, I will use it at my convenience. The only exception I might can see is an operating system.

I have to agree with the above poster about The Gimp. I've used it on windows several times. It's not exactly Photoshop, but it has the same general look and feel to it. I also like some of the scripting that's built into Gimp, sortof like 'actions' in Photoshop. I would recommend you try the Gimp first, it's really good for being a free product.
