i am guessing you are talking about from your old computer. you can take the hard drive out of your old computer and put it in the new one as a slave drive. the new gateway probably is like mine with sata2 drive which is probably different than the old one. however if you pull the case and look under the cd/dvd drive you should see and ide connecter that says slave this is where you would plug in the old drive. it will probably show up as f:/ you can then just move stuff over. once you are done you can format the old hard drive and use it as backup. good luck. search for "cyber tech help" its a computer bulletin board.

I used to sell software and also license agreements for many software publishers, including Microsoft. You will need to install a license on each PC unless you have a network license for the appropriate number of users. You might want to surf to Microsoft's site and see how the user licenses are bundled these days. It used to be you could purchase as few as 2 users for small networks. You won't be able to get these particular licenses in the box stores like CompUSA though. They are aiming at the home market.
