I still have the one BIG question and I dont know the answer to it , what if anything is being done to help the washers under current restrictions , forget all the other stuff for now , with all that is goiung on I feel they have been left out, too much concern is already placed on other issues rather than the problem at hand (which is the reason for all this in the first place) I dont know what good it is to build a website and focus on all the other things while the original problem still exist ?

The website has this area. How many of the people who have called you have even sent ONE email from the RFW site or any other site. HOW MANY on these BB's have sent emails or letters. I know some have and I can bet many havent at all. I know some in the Carolinas that havent sent squat. Im not trying to have a back & forth with you, I respect you and your decision,I have seen instant negativity on many matters ( not talking about this) , but here is a guy from California trying to help out and its turned into something more so he is going with it, but he is trying and many in the carolinas or other parts of the country arent doing much at all. I've sent 7 or 8 emails i think. Maybe those who dont know about this if its good or bad or BS or even if you really dont know about the PWNC. How about everybody on the BB"s start a thread and start an emailing campaign to drought areas and the elected officials. just an Idea J L Pressure Washing 843-446-5931 www.JLpressurewashing.com myrtle beach pressure washing concrete cleaning experts |

Hey Jeff,
I'm willing to bet lots of folks have done things on their own, and I know that PWNC made a huge media splash, even got a retraction made in the press. I'm sure RFW will do their best to make a mark also. I think it is good that so many are making efforts. It takes lots off effort to make headway. A call to arms I only made this plea after I had emailed my local water authorities for several months,as well as, surroundng counties water authorites and the governors office repeatedly to give a voice to the industry in the state of Ga.Your 7 or 8 emails are much appreciated Jeff, but I will bet the dozens I have sent to various people at the city, various counties an state level probably have me on some kind of watch list for crazy people. Just last week I emailed the Ga. Lt. governors office to introduce the RFW website to him in an attempt to gain an allie for the industry in Ga. state government. I'm going to weigh in for the PWNC here since we have been mentioned here.
First, the PWNC has provided and offered information to RFW/UAMCC in order to keep information accurate and helpful for the industry. ANY effort that assists contractors should be supported for that reason alone. Secondly, it has been pointed out that contacting parties on the Federal level (Congressmen) in the State of North Carolina is a futile effort at this time. The STATE is handling it, the Feds are not involved. My congressman is a lifelong personal friend and I have already made that contact. Until the Federal government declares an area a Fed Disaster area, they are hands off. Third, the PWNC has already made remarkable progress in raising awareness by correcting the media at every opportunity, by getting in front of tv cameras. Letters are written daily, blogs are in place on a regular basis and the PWNC phone has not stopped ringing for two weeks. The Carolinas are working hard. I have also corresponded with our Lt. Governor's office. On a personal/corporate/networking note, I have now been targeted by a private party for my efforts to coordinate this network and do what I still believe to be the right thing to do. I will not increase this person's traffic by publicly posting the actual url. My main thing is......PWNC and RFW/UAMCC are different animals. We both, regardless of motives, still each have the interest of the industry at the core....but please do not confuse the two entities. Celeste |

I know you are on top of it Scott. I just hope others reading this will see it maybe as a call to action. Hell how long would it take for everyone on these BB's to send one email. The GA one is the 1st one i emailed, because you were the 1st out of the box in this As for being on a Crazy list, you'd be crazy not to be doing what you are doing. Good for you!!! As for this RFW org thing. I just wanted to voice an opinion. I'm not knocking Russ or anyone for their thoughts on this. I think Carlos should be on the crazy list too. After reading this thread, It will be a little tough to get people to participate, but the world isn't just these BBs. I'm done on all this, everyone give it a chance even if its from a distance To bad we dont build desalination plants on the east coast. We help them build them in the middle east why not here. I want to thank everyone for their comments both here on the boards and also privately. Thanks to the handful of contractors/distributor that personally called me and offered some very good feedback as it relates to this particular topic. Your suggestions that you offered certainly make sense and true to my word I am here to expound a little further on this particular subject matter.
I also am confident that for the ones that did speak to me over the last couple days walked away from our conversations with a sense of understanding and assurance that we are compelled to go the extra mile to makee sure that contrators do understand that the new organization will be guided and anchored by contractors. I was asked to repost to make sure that the industry hears in the most simplistic terms of the opportunity for us ~ meaning contractors ~ has in establishing a new organization. 1. The current workings and infrastructure of the UAMCC will be totally overhauled so that all aspects of the new organization will be contractor oriented. 2. Complete control of the UAMCC has been passed on to me for the establishment of a new organization for contractors. 2. The current BOD's for the UAMCC will be phased out. 3. A Transition Team of 7 contractors from our industry will assist the new UAMCC in establishing it's new framework. When I say framework I mean newwebsite, BBS, By-Law review & MODIFICATIONS, membership fees, and the establishment of how and what our services will be for the membership base. The 7 contractors that make up the Transition Team will be determined by: ** note the 7 members must represent the entire U.S. ~ meaning that we can't have 6 members from Hawaii and 1 member from Alaska - Evenly distributed. 1. their ability to Volunteer; 2. not a bod or founder of any other pressure washing organization; 3. Not a power washing/equipment distributor 4. Must be a power washing contractor. 5. Must be able to work with a group of 6 people to ensure that organizations infrastructure is established with the contrators needs put in the forefront. Establishment of state chapters. The new organization will agressively recruit a contractor or several contractors to represent their state. State chapter will relay to the Tranistion Team 5-7 points/request of what they want to see in a new organization. **this will help the Transition Team form the "services" that the new organization will provide. The forming of new "services" or benefits for the members will be ongoing all the time as we all know each state is different and have different needs at different times. Also, THIS WILL BE ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT AND TRUE AS THE NEW ORG WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO ADDRESS AND OFFER SOLUTIONS TO OUR CONRACTORS IN THE DROUGHT REGION. This is where the RFW initiative comes in. The framework and I stress only the framework of the RFW initiative is in place today. **The RFW is not where we want it at today BUT the chapters in that region can help this initiative but offerning suggestion and/or recommendation. The UAMCC NEW ORG. will serve as a catalyst and/or vehicle to get the necessary resources and tools out to that Region - How will we do this - THROUGH THE STATE CHAPTERS. Please understand that the Transition Team will not be able to implement every single request that comes from all the states. What we are looking for here is the 4 to5 most requested service that establishes a common theme from our chapters. This will be the beginning of the "establisment" of the new organization. Again - this is coming from contractors. Does the new org need to have all this in place before we announce that we are open? Certainly not. This dialogue and/or commuication will be ongoing between the states chapters and the UAMCC main location. - I don't know where this location will be. Maybe thats something you contractors can decide. CONTRACTORS AND PARTICPATION FROM CONTRACTORS NEED TO CREATE AND ESTABLISH THE NEW ORGANIZATION. That is why involvement today is important. Distributors - The new organization will NOT endorse any one particular distributor from the next. The new organization and it's chapters will not encourage or discourage it's members to purchase a particular piece of equipment. If a distributor wishes to showcase their products at a particular RT - they must co-sponsor the RT with the understanding that the new org will not endorse any products that they are dispaying. The new org. will announce the distributors sponsorhip on the UAMCC website and at the state level. Manufacturers - **see above. The new organization will convert to a 501(c). I have and will continue to contact individuals/contractors for the Transition Team. Just a footnote to the above.
If you are replying to this thread with a concern of how this is spelled out, please also include in your reply your suggestion for us to consider. Any logical answer with the contractors needs in the forefront will be giving serious consideration. The above post is a snapshot of our ideas. It is not engraved in stone and it is certainly NOT everything that we are working on!! I guess it just a difference of Opinions of what would be best for the Drought stricken areas. I look at it that both at a local level and a national level to do either one its better then doing NOTHING at all.
I personally never thought for a second that RFW would ever be able to just hand money out to the ones in need from any donations that they were and are accepting. To do that they would have to raise hundreds of thousand of $$$$$ to even make any kind of dent in that. Also to just hand money over to people in need is a little more complicated then some may think. To do it personally is a different story then having a legitimate organized group just giving money to individuals. I'm still a little confused about the donating part to RFW. I know I bought some Powerwashing Mafia items where the money from that was supposed to go towards the RFW cause. Where ever the money went from those doesnt really matter because I received some decent items for the money spent. I just don't know if I should donate or wait to see what its going to cost for me to keep my UAMCC membership intact which I plan on doing. Besides seeing the obvious benefits of a local group like whats going on In North Carolina being helpful to the contractors in that drought stricken area I still see the huge benefits of a nationwide org. in helping not only people in the drought states but also helping other contractors thruout this country thru education and awareness. When I see these post I think about the IWCA organization that was able to set a safety standard in there industry. That was huge!! Back to RFW. It amazes me that some will just think that there has to be a hidden agenda behind it all and it just can't be because of the passion that some have for this industry to try and do the right thing to help others. Its just the nature of the beast. Its like some look at the glass half empty instead of half full. Either way personally I am excited to see that Robert Hindeliter and Carlos Gonzales along with Ken Fenner and a few others are really trying to do something positive for this Industry. Robert for as long as I've known him has always had this vision. Besides these guys having businesses to run they really do care about the industry as a "WHOLE" instead of just individuals and maybe one day as a "WHOLE" they will have there voices and many others heard. Until then I wish them all the best........... How would you qualify "ability" to volunteer? Is it based on the amount of time one donates? If so how many hours are required? I want to throw out a HUGE word of caution. I watch the PWNA for years, both on and off the BOD burn through volunteers. Those who donated large blocks of time were unpaid and had increasingly large amounts of work pushed towards them. Those who did not donate enough got removed. There was incredible pressure from some for others to give more than they were able to give. I bring this up because ultimately it is very important to remember that a volunteer is unpaid help who has a particular interest in a goal or mission. To place a minimum requirement for service on a voluntary effort, in my eyes, would be wrong. Your volunteers are your lifeline, many have superior talents in areas you may not be aware of and you need them, if only for the short amount of time they can offer. I'm sure you are not dis-including anyone; I'm sure that all donations of time are welcome. I just felt the need to express this, so that history would not repeat itself. You might want to look through these threads to see who may be willing to volunteer to help. There may also be some ideas. Certainly worth reading.
