foamer questions ?? - Jun 2nd, 07, 12:39 PM

I am a newbie, but I have noticed that the formers come with a short hose. Are people putting longer hoses on so as to do duct work and fans??? I see all the foam videos always show people cleaning the hoods only??
when using the formers are people just adding a foam additive to their chems when running thru the FI -5's. ??
also what are the typical dwell times users are finding??

thanks for the info formers

lighting is the reason that you don't see to many vids of us foaming ducts and fans...Flashlights just don't do the job

However, there are plenty of pics like this one (here we go again )

oh yeah, and to answer your question... the longest you can go for hose on that FI-5 is about 10 feet...or at least that was my experience. You gotta pack that thing around with you bro.

The farthest the FI foamers will reach is about 100' ft but I have only been able to achieve this with the FI-JR not the FI-5. I could only ever

It is as simple as adding a foaming agent or Dawn to your regular mix, no fancy chemicals are required.

Yes there are lots of pictures like that Ant

I just started using a foamer and I have been using super doug and it has not been staying on the hoods well should I be mixing another chemical with it or does my foamer need adjustments.

It sounds like your foamer needs adjustment. Super Doug is a great product, and should foam very well. Try adding a little more of the Super Doug to your mix and see if that helps.

What do you mean by "not staying on the hoods"? If the stainless steel is clean, it will just slide off, but other than that, I'm not sure what you mean....What foamer are you using?

I think the foam may be going on to wet it don't go on thick enough and goes away before it has time to work right and if I but my foamer to much on dry foam I am not shooting enough foam. I am using the foam-on 5 from sanitation tools the biggest problem is getting it to lay on thick enough to work would it hurt to mix dawn or other caustic chems with the super doug

Just add more Super Doug. Its a great foaming degreaser and you shouldn't need to add any extra caustics or foaming agents to it. I would say about 1/2 gallon per 5 gallon mix should do the trick. If not add more, you will be getting shaving cream foam in no time.

I put 10-12 oz of SuperDoug in 1 gallon of water...if foams like a mofo and is strong enough for maintained accounts.
