Today is a new day in KEC. It is official, on November 1, 2007, The Grease Police Association will start accepting applications for membership. For many weeks now, several members of the KEC community across the nation have been forming The New Authority in Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning.

It's about time that the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry had a shake up. Good organizations in the past have done their best to educate and train responsible cleaners, but far too many cleaners are taking for granted that they have a piece of paper that says they're certified! The Grease Police will be the FIRST to hold contractors responsible and we will have checks and balances proving that anybody with the Grease Police logo is doing the best possible work that the customer can get.

The 2 deaths in Boston here a little while ago really was the tip of the iceberg. I don't think any "one thing" was responsible for these firefighters deaths, I think it was the industry as a whole to blame. That is what we are looking to change. Everybody from the lowely cleaners out doing their work at night to the fire marshals to the insurance companies, it all needs to be revolutionized and that is what the Grease Police is about. Let the revolution begin.
