I never did hoods but guess the work is done at night. I like to sleep so I'll keep the washing to the day time.

I've been doing commercial parking garages and just expanded into the kitchen hood cleaning business. Certified w/ both PWNA and IKECA.

Your old pic on the pwna! Just kidding!

Where was that picture taken, it did look like a i.d. or mug shot.

Matt, hello,, how have you been? I have not seen you in awhile.

Matt, can you hang the PWNA logo in your signature area as a certified cleaner. I was wondering why you didnt have it? Is it by your choice of do you have to be a member?

I have just always wondered about that.

OH yeah, i dont do hoods anymore and never will again i hope...LOL

Hey Ron M, Just been awful busy lately, been killing the hoods since the weather has broke and been working on some maintenace contracts to go along with the hoods, just picked up a spinner for concrete and will be pulling someflat work in the near future.

Been ticking off the other hood cleaners since I have my bids dialed in for work, been beating price about 15.00 to 20.00 dollars and yes I pull a large profit.

Went shopping for work today and picked up a large corp account today, just had it cleaned the other day by a national out fit, been pulling accounts from them all week, I just love those guys they make my work so easy.

Rod here...
We certified in aug 2003 and have been getting greasey on a few occasions.
Its a really messy job and if it werent for the chems to get the stuff off, I would be utterly turned off by the biz.
The night work is difficult to keep up with when you have jobs and crews running during the majority of the day.
We have a few accounts and are building up for the winter to keep busy.

"note to admin...we need a grease monkey icon!

Rod~

Congrats on your cerification. You will get use to the greasey feeling.

Keep plugging away, you will have more jobs then you can shake a stick at after your name gets out there.

Where is your largest time usage? Mine is filters.

Figuring out how to get into some of the older utillityset fan units!!!!!

Talking a dirty hood is a friend of mine - Jun 24th, 04, 03:15 PM

hey guys.I bought an existing business with existing accounts 100% hood and flu cleaning.I had no idea the steam business was as diversified as it is. Hoods are all we do now but i can see a definite shift in business direction.
My question is to Matt and J-hawk,about schools.I feel very comfortable with my level of expertiese, however knoledge is power. Also on another touched on note,it helps to have a stack of certificates and scooling when you start talking to your friendly insurance salesman.(3 milloin dollar liability ins is not cheap!!!)
not to brag or anything but myself and my cousin/partner have completed a 13 foot hood in a 24 hour denneys blower to grill in 3 hrs.Yes we were running the whole time and yes we were filthy beyond recognition.(nothing like standing on a grill and blasting straight up 10-12 feet of flu and it all comes down eventually).
The best part was the yearly renewable contract and the fat check from an astonished owner whom thought the job impossible to do in the given time frame. Its almost better than getting payed.......well maybe not
