Homemade Foamer Plans - Dec 31st, 07, 08:50 PM

Anyone using a foamer of any design that contains ANY brass or copper parts should stop using it and replace those parts with stainless steel parts.

The degreaser willl weaken brass parts and they WILL fail.

That is a cool looking set up. Looks very easy to build and I can see how there is no limit to how much hose you can use which is a big problem with the foamers. Thanks very much for sharing that.

Foaming additive - Dec 31st, 07, 11:33 PM

Matt

The foamer works very well. I can lay on foam two inches thick.

I'm using Dawn Professional Pot and Pan Detergent to create foam. I called Procter & Gambel and talked to their Technical advisors and they suggested that, over the Dawn Ultra we were using. However, I would like to use an additive that dosen't thicken so much when cold or is more cost effective.
Any suggestions?
Dave

There are so many foaming agents on the market now, I think your best bet is to find a supplier in your area that you can buy in bulk from. Delco is fairly close to you and they have a product called 1420 that foams up really good and you can buy it in 2 1/2 gallon containers. I would give Larry a call and ask for a sample, I think it will be as good or better than the Dawn and probably half the price.

I just looked at the site and I think it actually called 1400. Either way, just ask for Larry when you call, and tell him you need to sample his foaming agent.
