Cleaning floors is high-pressure business

by Bob Grasso

When done correctly, cleaning a floor using a high-pressure floor cleaning system can be relatively fast and easy.

A dual-surface cleaner washes hard surface floors with up to 1,200 psi and cleans carpets with instantly heated solution at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, and is ideal for cleaning such establishments as restaurants, hotels, and more.

Instead of using traditional cleaning methods to scrub the floors — a rotary buffer, mop, and bucket — using a high-pressure floor tool that releases 2.2 gallons of water per minute at 1,200 psi means a faucet connection — and no need for a recovery reservoir.

How it’s done

Before cleaning with this method, the floor area should be cleaned in the following five stages:

1. Sweep the floor to remove large debris and soil.

2. Spray the floor with an alkaline cleaner to loosen and break up the soil for quicker removal.

3. Clean small sections at a time, 100 to 200 square feet.

4. Allow the cleaner to dwell five to 10 minutes, or as recommended by the manufacturer.

5. Using the floor wand, high-pressure scrub the floor moving in a steady, left to right motion, partially overlapping areas just cleaned.

For heavily soiled areas and discolored grout, allow the machine to high-pressure scrub the area longer or repeat the cleaning process.

No need for these

Eliminate setup time and speed up floor maintenance time. Clean as much as 1,000 square feet of floor space in one hour, without:
  • Pads
  • Buffers
  • Mops
  • Buckets
