Paul, question.. Is the .4 gpm loss between the 12 volt and the 110ac version due solely to horsepower loss?. Uses same ts2021 pump and piston setup right? Seems I could switch over to that model pump to get about .4gpm out of my 18hp Honda if I wanted to. This brings to mind a topic I been meening to pose to you manufactures... Ya'll ever consider producing unit stock with dual unloaders and then to offer as a side package a simple motor/pump package for boosting to 8+gpm? I see it that alot of guys with -5hp skids or people that entered market already having small cold washing portables may more likely pick such a main unit. Yes the loss is due to hp restrictions. We factor in a 3hp loss for the operation of a generator. The formula to figure what you can achieve is as follows gpm x psi / 1100= required hp for operation (gas engine). So if you deduct 3 hp from the 18 hp engine for the generator you have approx 15 hp to work with. Then you take the 5.2 gpm x 3000psi/ 1100= 14.18 hp required. (our specs for generator unit) As for the dual unloader setup most machines come with an unloader so that really wouldn't be necessary and the market isn't really there for an unloader-less machine. The people that would want something like that, such as yourself, are already knowledgeable enough to build their own so... But you are correct, as long as the pressures of the two machines are equivalent you could link them that way if you wanted, just be sure you are using trap style unloaders for it to work. We do have a unit like that already in our dual pumper, 1 engine 2 pumps up to 20 gpm. |

Thanx Paul... true true a unit is usually going to have unloader. Haven't really looked lately but don't most the little cold units use the pressure type unloaders?.Thinking my current skid is using an ST280. Since tip ends up determining pressure what do ya exactly mean by same pressure...adjusting each units regulator to be same individually? Don't have to have same pump gpm or psi capacity right. Have to default to using the pressure max of the lowest machine I assume. Yes, very few units come with the flow unloaders, probably because you have to use the correct tip and have them adjusted properly. Trap unloaders will self adjust so I am sure that has something to do with it. As far as linking you would just need the equal pressure which you could adjust on the unloader to even out 2 different machines. |

Paul, Instead of hijacking I made new thread on it in case people want to share info:Boosting small gpm skids with portable units? Sacramento, CA "Wood Refinishing-Pressure Washing- Concrete & Vinyl Floor Care- ~~~> done right by a leftist coast" mmienterprises@hotmail.com |
