Exclamation Clean Up America's Swabby 48 Video - Jan 18th, 07, 05:41 PM

My name is Bill Clemons, I am the president of Clean Up America. I have attached a few pictures of our trailerzied system . You will also find a link to a video of our process below. Although the video is a bit dated, it is sill very informative. Our new vacuum system recovers 98%. We are only selling our system via a franchise. This allows the purchaser to have a protected market place. Feel free to email me if anyone has any questions.

Thank You,

Bill Clemons

I know this is going to sound negative, and it might have been mentioned in the audio portion of the video, but I do have a few questions.
1. It seems like in the video that a lot of water is beign left ont he surface of the parking garage that you are doing. I realize that mnay garages have insanely rough surfaces, is it due to this, or is it because you are not using the vacuum recovery option? I noticed the rear squeegee is not lowered. Is it due to the rough surface of the garage?
2. I saw the spot where the swabby approached the oil spot on the floor. It passes over the oil spot, and there is no after picture. Is there a reason for this? Why?
3. There are eight spray nozzles on the base of the swabby, what size are they? Are they 1501 or 15015's? Curious because of the GPM recommended for proper use of the swabby?
4. How often do you need to stop and empty the recovery tank? Do you always put the Flocculent into the recovery tank, or do you put it into a holding tank on the truck so that you can keep on cleaning? About how long does this process take, and is that figured into the 10000 feet an hour you are cleaning?

I am certain that I have other questions, but I am really curious about this.

Bill,
You reference the EPA and say you are "EPA approved". The letter head is from the DEP. Would be interesting to see the letter in full.
The last time I checked, the EPA did not approve equipment or process. Could you tell us a little more about this

EPA never will APROVE any type of cleaning system but some companies think that since the average person does not know this they can "claim" to be EPA approved.

To bad EPA does not have an enforcement department as they would deal with this issue legally.

Interesting how you show only the good or one side of something, take draining the tank, you cut the video before totally removing the hose so that no one can see the water running down to the concrete.

Sorry to be blunt but your ego is a big as your video is long and if I were a prospective account and you showed that to me I would click STOP before it got half way done as I did this time, reason, BRAGGING.

Want to impress people and businessman, make it SHORT AND SWEET and truthful.

Most of that garage either is new or was pre-cleaned before you made that video, I have cleaned enough parking garages to know that they are not that clean before, during or after. I mean not even one spot of oil residue, come on now, whose leg do you think your pulling, not ours, your 3rd one maybe.

I have a suggestion, have a few demo's across the USA and invite every pressure washer to them, let them see what you really do and leave your demo movie at home.

Sort of reminds me of another company that used to brag about how big and great they WERE since they seem to be gone now.

Oh I do think I have seen parts of that video from another company or was it the government or state, the part with the birds and water running down the drains.

Now you have some serious things to come clean on here.

Not questioning the machine, I am questioning things shown in the video, some of which I believe is not his but comes from other places.

I will say if it works then for large jobs such as parking garages it would be a true time saver.

I stated in my introduction, the film is dated. However my intention was to educate the viewer as to a method of cleaning that has the ability to increase ones profitability by decreasing the amount of equipment and manpower required to effectively clean large flat surfaces.

Quote- “Interesting how you show only the good or one side of something, take draining the tank, you cut the video before totally removing the hose so that no one can see the water running down to the concrete”

To respond to your quote, there is no longer a recapture tank on the Swabby. The waste water is transferred directly from the floor (via a squeegee) to the reactor tank mounted on our trailer. When we did utilize the method depicted in the video, the hose was disconnected with the pump running. It’s foolish to think our operators were not trained to hold the hose waist high as they carried it back towards the pump.

Quote- “To bad EPA does not have an enforcement department as they would deal with this issue legally.”

The EPA does in fact have an enforcement department. The next time you clean a parking facility, let me know where it is and I will call them and send them your way.

Quote- “Sorry to be blunt but your ego is a big as your video is long and if I were a prospective account and you showed that to me I would click STOP before it got half way done as I did this time, reason, BRAGGING”

I don’t understand what your definition of “bragging” is. My intention was simply to educate.

Quote- “I have a suggestion, have a few demo's across the USA and invite every pressure washer to them, let them see what you really do and leave your demo movie at home.”

I think what you mean to say is that I should invite contract cleaning companies to a demonstration. I will be in Florida most of the month of February and possibly March performing demos. If you’d like, email me your contact info and I would be happy to invite you to one of our demonstrations.

Juan,

It is true that is takes about 15 min for us to set up. For small jobs I can see the value of your Hydrotek. But what do you do when your job is 1,000,000 sq. ft. +, like the 8,000,000 sq. ft. job one of my franchisees just aquired.

I have a Swabby and can attest to the value of this machine. Under 5,000 or so square foot, I still use my normal surface cleaner. However, what about the jobs much much larger? We did 63,000 sq ft with full reclaim in about 6 hours this summer. Can that be done with a surface cleaner? With full reclaim and a Fortune 500 company looking down your back to see if anything hits the drain? I DID!!!

It also allows a smaller company to compete on larger jobs with companies that may have several crews and many machines. Two men one machine and l can compete with anyone on large jobs.

Like I said, I have seen this machine in action, and it is the real deal. It's going to be at the NC round table if you want to see for yourself as I understand it.

So I assume from post #9, the video is of an old version of the Swabby. how about one of the new version working? And can you answer a few of the other questions asked above ? Particularly Scotts' and Alans'.

BTW, this board has a signature requirement.

Hey Scott Stone--I think you talked to Bill Clemmons the creator of the Swabby right before I went to his place. If I was there I would have jumped on the phone to say a quick hello. This was this past friday. You should see what this guy designs. AMAZING.

Jeff is right about this machine cleaning large area's. Anything less then 3000-5000 sq feet its probably not worth using the swabby unless your going to reclaim. The swabby picks up water at an incredible pace. Its hooked up to a steele eagle set-up which most can attest to is a good reclaiming set-up. With all of the modifications that Bill has done it is one awesome machine.

and......driving this machine is fun and to make money from having some fun well thats..going to be fun.

No I did not intend to say invite them to your place, I said and I repeat TAKE YOUR SHOW ON THE ROAD to major cities and let them come see it there.

Why should the contractor travel to your place if you want to make a sale you go to them.

I also did not say a word about EPA having an enforcement department, I am well aware they do and so do cities and counties.

you stated you are EPA APPROVED and I said that the EPA DOES NOT APPROVE companies.

I have seen pressure washers make that same claim and when asked to show the papers approving them they scatter like ants running from the ant eater.

Perhaps you meant to say that the equipment meets the requirements set forth by EPA as a proper way to reclaim but and I repeat the EPA does not certify people or companies.

When there is a demand then your prices will come down to a reasonable price but I personally would not invest in one. I would invest in two trailers and complete set ups and hire more employees and get as much done.

As for outdated film I can accept that but still you need to shorten it considerably, like cut 3/4 of it out.

Short and sweet and to the point makes sales, long shows bore the facility managers and your apt to find out how fast they can throw you out.

If i were to own one of those and want to impress a prospective account I would DEMO it in a large area and throw that tape out.

Nothing lands an account better then a nice free demo.

If your ever in Albuquerque NM let me know as I would enjoy watching it in action.

Or in the Phoenix area, might take a drive there to see it working.

Jon
