Doug I have used Taginator alot and love it. I assume you spoke with Dave from ETS who makes Tag. I used Tagaway on painted brick and allowed it to dwell for 5 to 10 min with some success. I repeated it and succesfully removed it without touching the painted brick. I am not sure how much graffiti you are talking about but mine was only about a 4' x 4' section. Just curious, if it is cinder block why will they not paint over it ?? ( not that I want to discourage our profession )

Tom,
Thanks for the info. This wall is 8 feet by 110 feet and is tagged from end to end. My guess is that the customer thinks it will be cheaper to clean than to paint over. I talked to a painter that I know and he said without looking at it he estimates $700 to paint. I'd like to do it as a matter of learning, but don't want to waste time and money if it is not going to come clean with the Tagaway, and if I take off the base paint, then have to repaint anyway. Doug BTW, where is Washingtonville, I assume lower Hudson valley. Valley Mobile Cleaning Inc. 845-544-3645 |

I know price varies from area to area. Can someone give me a ballpark price for graffiti removal. I haven't been asked to do it yet but would like a base line.

Doug
I have about 15 different Graffiti removers in my shop. By far the best is Tagaway/Taginator. I used some last week. Although I haven't had the best success on painted cinderblock, that doesn't mean that others haven't. My comment on something that big would be, I'll paint it for $XX.00 The amount of chem I'll use against the risk????????? I'm interested in the other responses you get. Yes Doug, I am in Orange county. I definately have to agree with Rich, That large of an area, you are much better off re-painting. A 5 gal pail of Tag is anywhere from $200-$230 depending on the distributor. For about 880 sq/ft and depending on amount of layers you will you all of it and then some. Doug, it is not worth the effort. Pass up on the job. If you choose to except the mission, then I wish you all the luck.

The X factor in the Big Easy -
Nov 1st, 06, 10:08 PM
Every house and building in the city was spray painted with a 3'x3' X ( various colors) with date and co. # of Nat. Grd. and found bd's or n/a after Katrina.Last year I bought a bottle of taginator and was able to remove X's from unpainted brick after pwing but I would remove them and the paint from stucco, wood siding and other painted sufaces,so I stopped after some complaints. Now I am re-tooling for the winter as there are still thousands of X's still out there, on woodsiding, stucco porches, sidwalks and even on the window panes, waiting for someone to make them disappear.People have not wanted to completly re-paint their homes,or are busy remodeling the inside .I just bought a bottle of tagaway and Taginator and will test my frist X on a painted house up the street tomorrow and hopefully add this to my other services,I Xspect great results. Will keep you updated.
