Potential NY Roundtable -
Dec 15th, 07, 07:21 AM
I'm debating on hosting another NY roundtable with a different twist to it. I'm debating on holding one at my house. For entertainment purposes I have an enclosed Heated Jacuzzi on my deck that looks out to my Backyard where you can see the heated in ground pool. I can probably sit between 50-100 people comfortably in my backyard. There would be bar/waiter service and either Barbecue foods or catered food. I can set this round table up for it to last one or two days. There are hotels near by and also long islands finest beaches with the long island sound only about 2 miles from my house. Since I have 2 driveways and one needs to have the asphalt replaced we can use that driveway for demos. Also I will have my swabby by then so I can demo that for anyone who is interested. My house is like a miniature club paradise with some ponds and waterfalls to look at right off the deck. If some people bring sleeping bags and aero beds I could probably sleep free of charge about 10 people in my carpeted basement.
The only drawback for having a RT at my house is that the weather should be warmer so we can enjoy the amenities. The best for that would be sometime in the latter part of May..Maybe Memorials Day weekend?? There would be an entrance fee of about $35-$50 for each member to offset the cost with one of them being a printed up Org shirt for every person that comes thru the door. Any money left over will either be raffled back or used for the Next NY Round table sponsored by this org. People who come to this Round table do no have to come in as an Organization member and leave as one even though that would be nice. There are many topics to discuss including a few guest speakers I could bring to this round table. The other option is to have a NY Round table at my local distributer shop which can only accommodate around 30 people indoors. The other place to do one could be at an American Legion Hall or a restaurant. Those places can be held as soon as Feb which I might be able to dothat month because I'm going on a 10 day cruise Feb 15th...besides NY is a block of ice in that time of year. So tell me what you think by answering the pole that is attached to this post and also if you would be interested in attending a Long Island NY Roundtable that will have a backing of an organization to it even though that is not a requirement to be a member. I would rather attend a professional networking event. People can always get together afterwards and go out.

A large event can be good but less able to give a crowd what they may want or need. I think people can meet in smaller groups and get more out of it. Planed events are great, I dont think they need to be large to be good. Just have the right people present. Turning Dirt into $$$$$$$$$$ www.pressurewashinginstitute.com Call Anytime 602-694-2680 |

Yes you misunderstood it. I did not mean large when I used the word networking, I simply mean people gathered together sharing ideas and information with one another. I never mentioned size...

Beth,
The conversation about RT's are good. We have attended many large and small events. The term RT is not what it really apprears to be. A round table is exactly that. Getting together various members at various tables, and discussing various subjects. Having a room full of people discussing the same subject would be more of gathering of the minds to me. Doesn't matter here. The idea of getting together and learning is what it is all about. Your comment about "Professional networking event" means alot to us. We have attended Round Tables, in various parts of the country, held by various groups. They range from speakers brought in, at hundreds of dollars, discussing many subjects over a few days. This is what I would refer as a professional rt. Not to put down anything different. We attended the MI RT last year, will attend this year. It is pretty informal and the speakers are folks with alot of experience, willing to share. Awsome! This is an excellent gathering. There seems to be a gathering of the minds lately. Folks wanting to get together and grow their business. They are putting discussion groups in different parts of the country. This is a wonderful way to learn and grow our businesses. As they progress, they will become more professional. The cost will certainly rise and the benefits will increase. This is a real benefit to the followers. We will be watching for the most benefical programs and attending the best offered. Everyone is working hard and many companys will be the better for it. John T. The timing of the RT is important. The subjects and information shared are more important. The professionalism of the program is most important. Thank you for taking on a serious program as this. You will definatly grow from the experience. Looking forward to hearing more. Terry Miller Canton, Ohio 44708 330-418-8955 Quality-Price-Service |

I consider attending a RT a form of networking. I consider attending a convention a form of networking. Either one is good for business, and I'm inclined to attend both depending on where and when they are held. Bottom line, they can do your business good.
