Thumbs down Cold Weather = Slow Start ? - Mar 9th, 05, 09:36 PM

With the weather we have been having lately up here in the mid west lately, has anyone got off to a late or slow start or has it caused you any other other problems? The 5 days forecast here has high temps in the 30's everyday with snow chances 3 of the 5 days. Does anyone have tips on how to be as productive as possible during down times?

Mike,
March can be iffy in many areas. I even know of areas where May is when you really get going. It depends on when folks start to go outside, things are blooming and it gets to about 50 degrees. Let that be your guide.

You might do the following in the meantime:
  • make sure all your marketing is lined up for the year
  • make sure your equipment is ready, cleaned, maintained, repaired
  • make sure you are on top of all your estimates if you have any requests
  • make sure your business processes are going to support how busy you are about to become
Is the office organized? Is your shop organized? Is your customer tracking and accounting easy to use and set up ready to go? Do you have enough checks and deposit tickets to last the season? Do you have your proposal forms ready to go?

Hope this help!

Beth

have you ever noticed that it seems like all your equipment seems to fail at the same time? That's what I do during down times spend, spend, spend.
