What went wrong with the PWNA

From reading the thread about the new organization there was obviously some type of falling out with the PWNA. I was never a member of that organization, but I did attend a convention a few years back. It was a joint convention with the IWCA. What went wrong, or what member needs were not being met?

As far as your question.. it might be best to say "poor management" and leave it at that. I say that not because I want to evade the question but the group is defunct so there is no use kicking it further when its down for the count.

Ken, just lets say different mang. , just so everyone knows the PWNA member list is on the rise again.

This contriversial talk about new org. has the mangement busy.

PWNA is still there, how ever the beni's are only what you make them.

Forming local orgs will work, then trying to have some unity plan after benifits can be established.

Ron, the way I understand it, the PWNA is in serious debt and may have to answer to some serious allegations of misappropriation. Anyone joining at this point could be throwing good money after bad. There may just be a couple of air bubbles keeping that ship afloat, but its sinking rapidly. I'm keeping my nose out of orgs for the next couple of years. There are some good minds and competant people working on this new one. It will be interesting to see what they can achieve. Who knows? With a competitor on the horizon and new management, maybe the PWNA can pull itself from the fire?

Ken, i want everyone to know that i heard they are having a convention.

I wont disclose the source, I'm very sceptical about the news.

I'm not recomending anyone run out and join. I was just told the memberships on the rise.

I may even give them my dues again.

PWNA is about the betterment of the industry and we may and always hope new people can make changes needed. We have been for years now.

Anyway, whats the news on the new orgs. I'm calling them orgs now because i believe theres going to more than just one or two but maybe 5 or six.

We're members and the news of a convention is news to me. Also tell me this...why on earth would any org that wants to hold a convention NOT tell where they are holding it? Isn't the idea to gather together both the current members and also any potential new members? Maybe they have a booth at Deck Expo again. Or a booth at World of Concrete.

I was told not long ago by the management team, that there were no shows for 07 or 08 on the calendar at all.

I was told its being planned, now you and i both know that may not happen. But efforts are being made, and a new org should be able to work with them.

Ron-- Since where current members why don't you tell us exactly what you know instead of beating around the bush. Where members and where told nothing. The only news that I heard as of late was that when a few of us were on the Board we had a high of 475 members. At least 400 of those were caught up on there dues.

Today I've been told there down to 112 members and there won't be stand alone convention if any at all with them in the near future.

To all of you out there that are currently still PWNA memebers my questions is why? I am no longer a member primarily because of the 54% increase of membership dues. I believe in making the pressure washing inustry professional, however I think the price has gone crazy. What do I get for my money other than saying I am a PWNA member? What is the goal and objectives of the current PWNA board, and why have board members resigned suddenly prior to their term being up? I am not saying there is somethng wrong at the PWNA HQ, however it certainly looks like.
To me things just don't look right. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Are you saying there will not be an annual convention at all for PWNA for the next two years? Or am I confusing the shows you're referring to with the annual trade show/convention that they have every year?

They're down to 112 members? Wow. That's truly sad to see an organization that was so large and seemingly growing not that long ago fall this far this fast.
