A simple organization road map -
Jan 18th, 08, 07:01 AM
A couple of people talk powerwashing with some others. They decide to start a national organization with the goal to benefit its members first. So they come up with a reasonable start up price of lets say $150/yr. With that new members can now market the new logo and they can also read literature thats put out by this org thru e-mags,emails bb's etc. Then from there these people talk to some other people with the goal of promoting this new org and to also get some round tables around the country started up. At these Round table there should be more organization promoting going on along with all the other interesting stuff that a round table can have. People in there admission cost should maybe get a t-shirt from this Round table that says the state and the Org on it.
Along the way a few bucks from each round table gets kicked back upstairs to the Organization with the idea of the organization to use this money to get the yearly Convention going. At this Convention there is a cover to help pay for more Education classes and to see more equipment etc which is a continuation but at a much larger scale then what the round tables had. Everybody who goes there should at a certain time there where there shirts from the round tables they attended. There should be a Brunch and some demonstrations and one big group round table for all to be in together so to just gel as a group. Do this for a couple of years and watch how this organization can grow. Also give the Board of directors an oversight committee to make sure all stays on the straight and narrow so know one can be weighted down by that temptation known as greed. From the original group reach out thru round tables then head towards the Convention. Use any and all forms of communication available today to connect with others whether it be thru YOU TUBE or bb's etc. It seems simple cause it is if you can get others to participate and to really see the big picture and to help them see the big Picture a new fresh face President needs to be leading the show. An Org name needs to be picked and the wheels need to start turning to make this happen.. This is my simple plan for direction to get this thing going if people really want it. It would be great to see a ton of round table participants from around the country all hook up in Miami in the smack of winter to enjoy a fun convention and then to sit poolside with there exotic drinks to sit relax to talk maybe shop.....and to really soak in the moment.... John, if this is what YOU think should happen - YOU do it. You're the one with all the experience - stop trying to get others to do the work for you. That's half the problem with this industry. People talk about doing stuff all the time - but nobody DOES it. OR, maybe people don't WANT a big national org - we watched what happened to the last one. Ugly at best.
The STATE NETWORKS are already in the works. These are simply groups with goals that start out with contractor benefits in the forefront. We all pay a reasonable price to participate and in return, literature, marketing, logo, future name recognition. I have had multiple other states express an interest in doing very similar or near exact even duplicates of the network setup. There have been discussions of networking the networks. So, was there something else you wanted in a group, besides a big convention? You can go to some of the events listed on Contractor Events and get more than you ever could from a "convention". Off for coffee. Celeste Esse quam videri "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss |

Hi Celeste--I am working on something with a few others and it is taking probably longer then we expected. What you read above is just a vision of how I could see this thing going if it ever pans out. Congrats to you and a few others who are at that phase where you are implementing your idea's as we speak.
