Soap leaving streaks? - Aug 8th, 08, 10:41 AM

I wanted to see if anyone has had this problem before. We just started using a new soap and it is leaving streaks on the trucks and the windows. I thought maybe we were mixing it to strong but I broke it down to 1.25 gallons of soap in a five gallon with H20 Then DS. My question is what do you guys think could be causing this problem. My other question is how can we remove the streaks from the trucks. Thanks for any help!

Some soaps just streak. There are some that I have seena dvertised on the 'net that I have tried and I was told it was applied to strong, yet, if I applied it at a rate where it would not streak, I got zero results. It happens, and makes you angry when it does.

Are any of you including a rinse aid in your wash solution?

When I did wash some box trucks, I had one streak on me but I figured it was from allowing the soap to dry. So, I just applied more, brushed the heck out of it and rinsed with hot water and it got rid of most of them.
My other hypothesis is that the previous washer may have created the condition and my process just revealed it from under all the road grime. My soap had butyl and bleach in it along with a rinse aid and this worked well for most applications.

Thoughts?

Rod!~

The tempature of the truck itself could also be the problem. If the truck was hot from sitting out in the sun it would need to be cooled down first with a water rinse before adding the soap. Especially on glass, you can get white streaks from the soap cooking on the hot glass. It is alot harder to get off once that happens but it can with a little elbow grease. What was the soap you where using? What main ingredients?
