Truck Cleaner Product Info - Jan 17th, 07, 10:59 PM

Is anyone familiar with a product called SC-675K manufactured by Etowah Chemicals in Alabama? I do know is a powder/liquid mix kit high on the alkaline end (Sodium Hydroxide being their main ingredient) Kit costs 160 bucks and makes 55 gal mix of RTU solution. For most applications use at 30:1 ratio per mfg recommendation.

Never heard of the stuff.
Best thing to do is get some and try it out for yourself.
Also something I have learned is that the ratios provided by the maufactorer are just a number thrown out there.

I like the picture on your web site where the car ran into a trucks trailer hitch.
You do good work.

Rick, the SC675 is similar in make up to Panel Bright. It is a very good product for brushless truck washing. I'm not positive, but I think it leans a little more on the Sodium Hydroxide than the Panel Bright. Do you have an MSDS on it? What percent is SH? Be real careful around polished aluminum and the grill frames that are chrome plated plastic. As I said, it is excellent for truck washing, just use it prudently until you become familiar with it.

Thanks guys. I gleaned a little more info but not a MSDS from the Mfg. website. Dilution ratios go from 50-1 to 70-1. Kit is part 1 powder (40 Lbs) and part 2 liquid (5 gal) mix both inside a 55 gal drum then fill with water.
I did call the Mfg. but they would not release a MSDS unless I bought the kit... yeah right, what a crock. I mean the guy was kind enough to answer questions but no MSDS.

The shipping alone on the 5 gal pail would be expensive. Especially if it had the S.H. in it.

That's the problem I can't tell if the powder is the SH or the liquid. I got the stuff but dare not use it until I have product data sheets and MSDS on hand.

The labor (brushing) savings is well worth the extra money. If you've never tried this type of truck washing detergent, I'd be happy to send you a gallon.

Rick, I may be able to get you the info you need (MSDS and product sheet). I'll look and see what I've got.

Russ, you are a great asset to the pwing business. I truely respect you and what you do. I did recieve a sample of your product about a year ago. I thought that it worked well. The thing with me is, I need a "one size fits all" brushless truck wash. We wash all kinds of trucks. Some have chrome, stainless steel, & various types of aluminum. I have a 175 gallon soap tank in my truck. If I come to an account that I can't use a certain soap at, I have to dump out the soap (the tank could have varying amounts of soap in it of course) and make a different batch on site. There are just too many variables for me. The 2 main ones are- employees & multiple types of trucks.
In no way am I saying anything negitave about your product. I think it will work great for a lot of people. I have heard and read a lot of good things about Panel Bright. I also believe them to be true.

Thanks Russ for the product safety data sheet. It is awesome to know people in the industry that will freely share this type of knowledge.
