New deck lights being offered this year - Apr 25th, 03, 09:38 AM

This is an example of the deck lights I am offering this year. Real easy to install and can make a few $$ on them.

Looks great, wish I had a deck, a nice view and a couple acre's of land!

You do all the wiring as well as the installation?

Jon

The lights are Kerr Lighting, get them from Port St Lucie Fl. They are looking for distributors. Great prices, intall with a 1/2 drill bit, a jigsaw and a phillips screw driver. They run off the same type transformer as landscaping light. Also offered are paver lights that recess into just about anything, retaining walls to drive ways and walk ways. Also, speakers in a rock. We installed 22 lights in less than four hours. 22 lights coverd a spread of 14+45+16 foot lengths.

They are just awesome at night, very subtle and they give enough light to see those around you on the deck. We also put two on the steps.

What a great Idea, I never even thought of that. Maybe something to offer on my deck jobs. Could either of you give a ball park idea of what a ..... say... 20 light job might run on top of what I charge for decks. upsell upsell upsell. Plus the decks just look beautiful. Oh yea........ Can a pressure washer do electrical as a contractor even if it is not stated on my license or will I have to sub out the electrical hook up part of the job...... Thanks guys.

We charged $30.00 per light for the lights & installation. Our 14 light kit ran us $182.00 including shipping. We used and charged for 11 lights. Took Roger less than 3 hours to get them in by himself. Plus the decks just look beautiful.

This was one of the first questions we had ... this is low voltage lighting - same things any DIYer can pick up off the shelf at the local home improvement store so I don't believe that any electrical licensing or insurance would be necessary (least that's what we've been told). We do insure that there is an outlet on or very near-by the deck. We wouldn't install outlets so that's where our limitation would be.

Adrian
Thanks for the compliment
