Cool Nice! - Jul 21st, 06, 10:58 PM

As always, nice job, and good idea with the pavers, I've usually used careful masking and absorbent drops over plastic layers.

Your way is better!

Thanks Scott and Mr.Ken

Scott, since i use a few layers of plastic i can pull the first layer out after i'm done spraying. So you don't have to walk around on a slip and slide full of oil and water.

Ken i only used a 200' roll of plastic on this little job!

Right back atcha Ken..

There's a little spot right there that you didn't get covered with plastic....right....there. See it?

That plastic almost makes it look like you flash froze the brick, with the moisture under it.

Let's see, that would have cost about $100.00 in plastic alone. Nice masking job though. btw, do you do the top of the arbor? Most of our clients want it done as well and we comply as long as it is safe for the operator to be on top of to wash.
UMMM!!!! You got the post wet! Oh, my gawwwwwd!
How does the product perform on wet wood?
Noticing the finished pic the same post looks different.

Rod!~

I used 1 roll of 12'x200' 1.5 mil = $40 and i charge an xtra $150 for having to cover and protect the pavers.

Yes i do walk the top of the arbor to spray the top of the 2x2's.I try walk around the joist but this arbor was actually pretty sturdy.

The bottom of the post look wet but that's where we brushed in the stain before we sprayed water on the pavers. The stain is oil base so the wood has to be dry before staining. So since we are staining the bottom of the post first the water doesn't effect the stain after it's applied.

I'm not sure why that post looks different it might be sun reflecting off the oil in pic.

Yeah i see that spot Beth it was the only area i had to tuck the plastic under and around the post because of the power wire for the fan. That was the only post that had to get brushed in.

Yeah Shane I bet that big bold print about plastic was aimed at me. HA HA. That arbor looks great and I am starting on one almost the same next week, but have trex below to protect. We will brush the whole thing and don't even ask me about protecting. There will be more plastic than any big box store has in stock.

Nahh Paul that wasn't aimed at you at all man.

If you are brushing the arbor in just wet the Trex and lay a couple layers of plastic down then lay tarps on top of the plastic.Since you won't have all the overspray it won't be as messy.

I lay multiple layers of plastic to be able to remove the top layer with all the overspray. Then i can walk on clean plastic and track stain everywhere.
