JL new rig. - Sep 3rd, 06, 09:22 PM

Picked up the new set up this past Friday in Orlando. Got to meet Don Phelps, nice guy and Don thanks for the help

Got an open trailer this time so I can get into the parking garages and its a 14 ft trailer so I can park it in my garage

Trailer has a lot of work to be done on it, have to add racks & holders. Trailer has a 8gpm 24 hp hot and a 5.6 cold 20hp. Would of liked to get 2 hot machines on it, but couldnt afford it right now, we'll put a hot box on later

It will be nice to use this and my other trailer set up and retire a couple of my 4gpm machines. We'll be cleaning some condo & garages with this baby

All the JL's Josh, Jessica & Jeff. We were thinking about changing my wifes 1st name so it starts with a J also, I came up with a new name for her she didnt go for it, what do you think JaLisa

My boy keeps saying he wants to grow up to be just like daddy. He's ready to wash. That boy is GREAT, love being a dad and a PW contractor

Jeff how tall is the 8 gpm skid, looks pretty tall? I guess the tanks being underneath adds the extra height. Looks good, now I see why you were asking about some sort of sheild or deflector to place on front of trailer.

Didnt measure it but the trailer with the skid on it is about 5' 10" tall. I think me and my welder will be doing a deflector next weekend, some curved steel and diamond plate with an access door. Got a lot to do with it I like to have everything I need on the trailer.

It will be working next week we have 20 buildings to do , we are doing the front of each building and the 3 levels of walkways on ea building. All this extra GPM will be great

Jeff, maybe on your daimond plated curved steel front you could come up with a cover system that would work hand in hand with your ladder rack. This is going to be tough to explain on the computer but I will try. I guess the best way to describe it would be to think of a Roll n Lock for truck beds but for your trailer it would be like the letter "u" upside down. When you slide it open it all gathers back in your wind deflector. When you slide it closed it protects equipment from weather and theft. It could hold its shape using metal bands bent in the shape of a "u" threaded into the canvas material every 2 or 3 feet and it would lock in place at the rear of trailer via the ladder rack somehow or just turn and buckle on the rear angle plate on trailer.

I know this may sound goofy or crazy but this would be great. The ability to work off an open trailer that also has the option to close for weather or if you choose to eat in a restaurant for lunch.

Roll n Locks for trailers, am I on to something or do they already exist?

I like the idea and it got me thinking. If I had the money to do this. Something like a garage door, simular tracks a garage door uses and have a door like set up that as you roll it back it all goes into itself to save space and have it to use also as a ladder rack. Then maybe the side have button down waterproof canvas.

Now if I only had the money.

For now Im going to have like a half shell protecting the front & top. I just dont like the thought of the wind & rain beating this thing. With the gas tanks on the bottom its tall. The one thing I hate about the Pressure Pro skids is the placement of the fuel tanks, they are a PITA to fill, poor design, I heard that will be changed in the newer models in 2007

Nice set-up. Its nice knowing that you have the work lined up to pay for that rig. I like the open trailer set-up but up North here the prefered is the enclosed because of the harsh weather. Have fun making money with that rig!!!!!!!

Thanks John

Maybe when you retire down south you can get an open trailer.
We need more northeners down here in the south. Maybe we can turn them into blue states again lol

Rock on dude, your customers won't know what to think when JL pulls up to the job. Is that skid a 12 volt or 120 volt, can't really tell if it has a generator on it or not. One thing about that skid design is that it looks as though it is laid out where it would be easy to work on, a whole lot less knuckle skinnin'.
