Very nice I was debating about getting a crew cab myself. With the Ford pulling a trailer you should get around 10-14 mpg max.

John, you should definately be getting better gas mileage with a diesel compared to a gas engine. Diesel is much more efficient. Paul I know you said 10-14 mpg is normal but I have to disagree. H eshould be getting better than that unless he has an oversized or overweight trailer.
Also I believe Ford has 0% financing available. At least 2 weeks ago anyway. |

Good I will have to look into it.
I know they say the mileage should be higher, but in my experences '97 F350 w/7.3L Diesel, and '03 f550 w/6.0 L diesel, I have been getting 15-18 mpg empty or lightly loaded, and 10-14 pulling a trailer. The pickup was always a little worse because more of the trailer was exposed. On my 550 I have 4' sides that sort of shield the trailer from the wind so it pulls a little better. aAt least it feels like it, or maby it is just the engine size. Still it is much better than I got with gas engines. Now go here...http://bankspower.com/ and see what you can really do with this rig. I've seen similar trucks smoke all four tires endlessly!!! Oh, yeah, and you can improve your mileage too!

The long, skinny pedal ion the right side of the cluster is the "budjet" pedal. The more you use it the larger the budjet gets! (or needs to get) LOL
Nice rig, nice color. I'm sure it will deliver for you. It may get slightly better mileage as it breaks in, but don't get too expectant. What did the sticker suggest for mileage? Jon, does it have the 7.3 or the 6.0?
You can go the Banks route for more power, or the other routes...pm me if you are interested, I'll send you to some sites that will get that baby rollin with about 1/3 of the price as Banks.....Not to knock Banks, I love their stuff, but same results with lots less money is possible..... |

I neglected to mention that it is a 2003 model. 105000 miles. $21500.
I really wanted a Ram 2500 as Ive never been a fan of ford. But this was too good to pass up. Aint no way Id ever buy new. My first house cost less than one of these things go for new! Ive never been a big fan of aftermarket items, as my mechanical ability only goes so far. Its probably something simple. Ive only had the trailer on once for about 50 miles and its only about 3000lbs so that shouldnt be the cause. Ill try the add ons if I cant improve milage with a simple tune up. Thanks Hot shot, ill pm you when I want to go that route. |
