My First Dually - Nov 12th, 06, 07:33 PM

Got my first dually this Friday morning delivered (towed) to my door. It’s a 1982 ford 350 box truck. Engine is strong with a 7.8 litter V8 powerhouse and it fires right up. Truck came with a MIT-M hot pressure washer with 978 hours on the clock pumping 4.7 gmp @ 3000 PSI. The truck does need some work before I can get it on the road, the brake booster needs to be replaced and all of the brake components need to be inspected. It’s a heavy rig with a curb weight of 6600 lbs. Here are some pictures. BTW it is a retired ambulance. Enjoy.

Looks good. Thats a good idea that I have not thought of. I go to church with a guy that races and they pull their trailer with an old ambulance.

Awesome. Way to go. Some signage and a toilet and you're set.
I used to drive those vehicles in Austin when I was a medic for the city.
Full of power and pretty reliable.
Congrats.

I plan on building some custom compartments inside to fit my needs. I also seen someone on here use pvc pipe to hold thier wands which looked pretty neat. I will have to get a picture of all the side comparments on this rig for it to really justify the space that is available. Can't wait to fill up the fuel tanks. Yes thats right plural this rig has two 20 gallon or so tanks.
