Lunch @ Sunbrite?? - Mar 17th, 06, 07:45 PM

Hey Pete, is the lunch on the 29th? Can't remember the date. I'd love to see as many of you guys from the board there as possible. If anyone wants, I'll bring my little wood resto trailer with to show up a dinky, but specialized setup for wood care, and get ideas on how to improve it.

You have it right, Rich. Our "Lunchbox Meeting" is set for Wednesday, March 29th, from 11:00 to 1:00. I've added your name to the list, partner! If any readers plan on being there, please let us know ahead so we can buy enough food for everyone. We are planning on burning some burgers for lunch. We are working on a comparison demo on Wood Tux, Ready Seal, and Spa-N-Deck. We will talk about preparation techniques and compare application techniques. There will be time for open discussion, too.

Phil Doolittle suggested that area PWers would be interested in doing this regularly, and that sounded good to us. We have brainstormed a whole bunch of ideas. We have done this in the past and the events were well-attended for a while and then died off. As long as folks are interested, we will continue to do this about once a month.

Let's hear some of the topics ya'll want to have demos about. We can also do short mini-seminars on topics like environmental cleaning, chemical safety, deckster maintenance, and whatever else local contractors want, too.

Be sure to let us know if you are going to attend, or face the chance that you won't get any burned burgers!

The whole Atlanta Regional Office staff and technicians of ABC pressure Washing will be there.
Free burned burgers, Free info, Free decksters, you bet... we'll all be there.
Just kidding Pete. It's just me that will be there.

...as far as topics discussed or suggested... dare I say.... recovery and what it takes to become compliant for EPA. Or maybe the dreaded bleach vs. per carb to clean decks.
How about a drawing for a free deckster? I'm probably pushing it at this point. I 'll be happy just to meet and greet everyone and of course the free burned burgers.
Thanks in advance
Adrian

Hi Pete,

Please include me in the count...I'll be there. Also, do you have an email distribution list announcing these events? If so then please put me on that list as well.

Thanks!

Mike

To anyone who is thinking of going but has not yet decided, you should go. It's a great opportunity to learn valuable information. Opportunities to network are wonderful things.

Hey all, just wanted to let you know I'm officially booked for the lunch next Wednesday. Just getting a taste of the last meeting was great a few weeks ago. Please, lets make this a great meeting for all. Don't show up late like I did last time!... I'll make sure to have my Bear Creek hat on.

I asked Pete, and he gave me the green light on bringing my trailer, also anyone else that wants to do the same, bring it on, we'll have a trailer backing contest thru some traffic cones...J/K.

And for anyone that shows up in person at the meeting, free looks at some of the brick restoration, Sikkens stripping, and paint removal we're tackling up here in N. GA....

Looking forward to seeing lots of you guys(and gals) there.

After rearranging some days for time off, I will be there if the cows don't go dry.

I'll be the first to jump in.
It was a great seminar. Pete and Tracy had a demo area setup with Ready Seal, WTW, and Deck & Spa. They went over the applications of how and why they differ. Even if you couldn't remember the presentation, a cheat sheet was handed out that summarized the info. Pete is going to do this once a month on various topics as long as the show up is good. I know that the Atlanta market is very lucky to have Sunbrite in our backyard. Anytime you can go and listen to Pete (and Tracy) speak you always learn something. And on top of all that lunch was also free.
Great job and I look forward for this to continue & grow through the spring and summer.

Ditto what Paul said. The "Lunchbox Meeting" was great. Covered alot of info regarding wood prep and wood staining/sealing. Got to meet Rich, Adrian, and several other nice folks. Lunch was awesome as well.

I'm looking forward to next month. See you there!

Mike

I drove down from Lake Wylie, SC and naturally I was late. But Pete and Tracy offered to get me caught up. They also gave me some real great information on what products worked the best for my situation after the meeting, even though they were very busy!

It was worth the drive to me just to meet all the nice people at Sunbrite and fellow power washers.

The info was very beneficial and the company was great. It was cool to meet some of the others as well. Sorry for my phone constantly on the ring though. One of my motto's is try my best to not miss any calls and I landed 3 jobs before during and after the lunch$$$, even closed on another on the way back to the office. Pete was great and very informative. Tracy knows his stuff really well and picked up on some great tips.Food was good and I look forward to the next meeting when we will cover "Recovery issues" and compliancy. Although there was no deckster drawing give away, I was not disappointed in anyway. Thanks Pete and Sunbrite staff.

Ya'll are very welcome at Sun Brite! We had a great meeting, kept it short and 'on topic', and only four of the burgers were burned beyond recognition. We love an audience here, especially one like this group. Lots of good stories and a chance to meet that other contractor you've been bidding against.

Next month the topic will be capture and reclaim for used wash water (see, I didn't call it waste water!). Instead of taking lunch on the run, you can spend a couple of hours getting filled up with information (and one of those barely-edible lunches!).

Other topics suggested including job bidding, paint removal, flatwork, fleet washing. We will try to get to them all as we can. Feel free to request the topic you want to see covered.

Tentatively, we are looking at Wednesday, April 26th from 11:00 to 1:00. What if I throw something on the smoker for lunch? Georgians love pork BBQ, but I kinda like some Texas-style beef BBQ. Any preferences?

PS - Don't forget the Georgia Chapter meeting on Saturday. If you want info on that, contact Jeff (Titan PW) at jeff@theflagplace.com
