Ok, You Burnt Some Plants, NOW What ? - Apr 29th, 08, 11:07 AM

We get a lot of calls from fellow professionals who are NOT members of any forum.
They burn or kill some plants, and ask "what do I do next" ?

Here is what we do if it happens.
And it seldom happens to us anymore because of the precautions we take.
Number one precaution ?
Having an extra man to protect the plants when we are spraying.
But here is what you do.
Number one, RINSE the ground around the damaged plants root system.
The ground MUST be flushed, and flushed TWICE.
This is what it takes to leach the salt out of the root system.
Then, add some Mir Acid fertilizer. Miracid Plant Food for Acid-Loving Plants Reviews. Buying guides & consumer product reviews at Epinions.com
The Mir Acid neutralizes the mix somewhat.
Then, trim all burnt growth back.

Most plants are pretty hardy and can sometimes be revived to be good as new.
Of course, the solution is NOT to harm plants in the first place.
The pictures below are the aftermath of a one man roof cleaner.
We watched him from across the street.

We were doing a LOT of work in that subdivision, and these are from a week after he did the roof.

We watched him get down and water, but it is always TOO LATE then.'
The damage is done.

One water and more water on the garden.
two I donnot like the xjet for puting soap on to the house to strong have to play way to much with my recipe.

Hello Chris and Don !
The Apple Vari Flow system is a chemical delivery system allowing you to adjust the mixture strength at will.
We got it working, but it was not w/o some problems.
Namely complexity and repeatability.
Plus, as you adjust chemical strength, there is always the chemical in 300 feet of 5/8 hose.
HOW do you tell where the strong chemical begins, and the weak chemical ends, or vice versa.

It was decided that since we clean 90 percent roofs ONLY, a vari flow system was not needed.
We now have two tanks and two pumps on our truck.
One tank is tile strength, one is for shingle.
The second pump is a back up pump.
What we do is move the feed tube from one tank to the other.
We SUCK from the top of our tanks.
