Terms and Conditions - May 1st, 08, 08:47 AM

I am new to the Roof cleaning business and was interested if anyone could share their terms that they have their customers sign before starting the roof cleaning.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unless it's more than a thousand dollars I just tell them the price and do the job and collect a paycheck. Doesn't need to be complicated. If you collect a portion of the money up front then I could see the need for a contract, otherwise.....

first job was $2050.00 and next job is $1400.00. I am looking for something that will protect me from that certain customer.

Use a basic contract that you receive 50% or at least materials up front. You will both sign. And then do the job and trust that you will be paid. You have to trust your customers at some point and just trust they will pay. Set up a time frame in which you require payment or payments. You'll figure it out. What ever way you do your work, make sure the customer knows what constitutes the job as complete. (Rinsing or not rinsing for example) You wouldn't want to have to wait for the rain to get paid. Thats just an example. Fortunately this type of work usually doesn't have people calling who aren't planning on paying. Not like the plumber or the mechanic, who deals with emergency type work that comes up at a time when maybe the customer hasn't any money to pay right away.

TRUST your customers, but get a signed work order before starting work.
