Vandalized Truck - Windows Broken Out - Jun 23rd, 08, 09:02 PM

Vandalized Truck - Windows Broken Out
Sorry to report one of our trucks was vandalized sometime yesterday .
This is an old Ford F 600 Flatbed.
I bought her for a grand, and she has new motor/trans in her.
Runs like a TOP.
She was a Cemetery Truck, hauled cement burial vaults.
An Old Florida Girl, she became expendable when the Cemetery was sold.
The man who sold the cemetery gave her to my mechanic, and he sold her to me.
I WAS planning to build what we jokingly refer to as the "Death Star".
I was gonna put 4 - 300 gallon tanks on her, 4 monster pumps, and run 300 to 500 feet of hose off each pump.
It was a THOUGHT of mine to build her for big commercial jobs only, or for LOAN to those needing a commercial battleship.
What you do is fill each of the 4 tanks she was to have 1/3 with chemicals, and drive to the job site.
Then, you fill her with water, fire up the monster pumps, and each of the 4 men go take down some roof.

I do believe this to be an accidental vandalism, although BOTH windows were broke out, AND they attacked the windshield too.
Probably bored, out of school Kids

Time to call the junkyards for some cheap glass

Random vandalism might have been a better way to say it.

Yeah, that is what I meant, random is a better word, probably some bored Kids, out of school, nothing to do.
The side windows are easy to break, it is the windshield that puzzles me ?
They, or HE or SHE, tried to break it too.
They cracked it....

They either must have been total wimps, or swung a bat like most girls. It is amazing to me what people can justify doing just because they are bored, or something.

Yeah, probably bored Kids.
They made a mess, but I will fix it, or sell the truck.
I don't really go after commercial stuff anyway, and my trucks have PLENTY of firepower in case a commercial job lands in my Lap.

I never would have survived being sent home to Momma!

Sucks about the truck, some folks are just plain lousy. That said, one thing I noticed in the trucking business was that you get about a month to park an unused piece of equipment before this stuff starts.

It sounds like you have been lucky up to now. Sell it, or put it to work, you'll be happiereither way.

I got away with it for a year parked there.
I sold it today on craigs list, right away too Scott.
It is headed to S America, lots of S America export from Tampa.

I've heard about that, some buddies of mine haul a few a year down to New Orleans bound for S. A.

I know another guy makes a fat penny hauling old combines and balers down to Mexico. He says the old equipment isn't big enough for modern farms here, but beats open cab equipment still in use down there.

Still sucks about the old rig getting messed up. Seems like there is always somebody that can't stand to see anybody keep something. I never was so bored that I thought it was OK to mess up another guy's stuff.

Hey, I even get hostile when I see people tossing my recycle bin.
