The shafts on thev Subarus may be different ? Mike Williamson, a fellow moderator here may be able to help you better then I can ? He has been using direct drive roller pumps for years. Ag hose has lasted the longest for us, but it expensive. Simple Dollar Store 5/8 Garden hose will last awhile if you keep the pressure down ? Just rinse it out, and good to go for awhile. With 7 hp, it will be TOO easy to overpressure your pump! Gotta watch it, spray at 80 to 100 PSI only. More then this will cause the garden hose to bubble. http://www.brandonsingles.com/brandonoutreach.html http://www.saferoofcleaning.com Roof Cleaning in Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County, Polk County, Manatee County, FL. 800 293 1377 Cleaning Forum Roof Cleaning Training |

![]() This is what we use. A UDOR ZETA 40 GR Stainless and Poly Pump and Gear Reduction with a 6.5hp Honda Red and White Series Motor. Just keep your pump regularly flushed at the end of the day, every day or whenever changing chemicals and it should last a long time (years). This pump has TWO 1/2" outlets for running two hose reels at 5.75gpm max. out of each reel. We use Titan Stainless manifold and aluminum frame reels and Kuri-Tec hose 1/2"@ 300 feet, Rittenhouse and Sons have a great price on the hose but still expensive. You can tip the end of you chemical applicator wand down so you are only spraying 1-2-or 3gpm and the rest goes to 3/4" bypass back to your tank. Just make sure that you have at LEAST a 1-1/2" bulkhead on your DRAW side, run a 100 Gallon tank and run a large 20 mesh max. Poly Filter and all Spiralite 1-1/4" hose to the pump. Change your diaphrams ANNUALLY and you should have a great application system. Remember, "Quality doesn't cost, it PAYS"Either you'll pay it on the frontend or you'll pay it on the back end. Your choice and your money. Good Luck and Rubber Side Down! The larger hose is less restrictive, allows more flow. The difference in not subtle. Back in the old "hose debate" days, it was shown by me theoretically, and by Tim Aselton by actual flow testing that big hose make a LOT of difference. The Delavan pump starts out at 70 psi, but a long length of 3/8 or even 1/2 inch hose can easily eat up 1/2 or more of your pressure, leaving little left when you are on a 40 ft ladder on a windy day, shooting 20 feet up! This is why it is suggested to use as BIG a hose as possible, as short as is practical. I have a friend who actually has 3/4 hose on a Delavan 12 volt pump! This is better yet. He only uses the 3/4 when he has a really high roof to do, and goes back to 5/8 inch for everyday use. Works for him. The Delavan 5850 is an amazing pump, way UNDERPRICED for how much money it can make you. http://www.brandonsingles.com/brandonoutreach.html http://www.saferoofcleaning.com Roof Cleaning in Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County, Polk County, Manatee County, FL. 800 293 1377 Cleaning Forum Roof Cleaning Training |

3/4 inch hose, you go Mike!
Bet them Dual Delavans kick Azz, with that big 3/4 hose ? A common question we get is "how far will my pump shoot" ? Few realize it takes pressure and flow to shoot. The less pressure and flow lost in a hose, the more is availiable to shoot with. There is no "hose size debate" when it comes to performance. Big Hose always wins over small, for a given hose length. http://www.brandonsingles.com/brandonoutreach.html http://www.saferoofcleaning.com Roof Cleaning in Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County, Polk County, Manatee County, FL. 800 293 1377 Cleaning Forum Roof Cleaning Training |
