[Apple Roof Cleaning]

Here is a Church we did today in Sun City Center, Florida
As you can see, the roof went up almost VERTICALLY.

We had to "dig into our bag of tricks", and emulsify the Apple Sauce.

It was explained to the Pastor of this Florida Church that the thickened mix would take a rain or two to look it's very best.

He is OK with that.

Larry from All Surface Pressure Cleaning in Largo Florida came by, and did some spraying.
Kasey from Brooks Pressure Washing in Spring Hill Florida wanted to come and see how we do things, but his wife took his truck.

As can be seen, this Church roof had mold 2 to 3 inches THICK on the north side.

It took two to 3 sprays before we were happy with it.

You can see the bagged downspouts in some of the pictures.

This Florida Commercial Roof Cleaning job was completed in 5 hours
we drank Gatorade, and talked for an hour of that, and took some pictures.

We used almost 300 gallons of modified Apple Sauce.

LOOK at that modified Apple Sauce cling ?
See it turn white ??

I am gonna "cheat" on this Church's after pictures.

After a few good rains, I will drive down to Sun City Center, and take the after pics of this roof.

WOW! One thing is for sure that north side was BAD. I got there right after they had put the second coat on. Now I see why. Didn't look anywhere near that bad when I first got there.
I have to say something here. This was the first time I had ever seen Chris's Equipt. In person. He does have one heck of a set up. Very simple, Very big and made to do only one thing. Clean roofs. I know that some of you out there can clean roofs fast but I'm here to tell you, his guys can knock out a roof faster than I've ever seen anyone do it and with great ease. I got to meet 2 of his best today and I was definitely impressed. Both of the guys that were there were really nice guys. Clean cut, knowledgable, personable and very hard workers. It is one thing to see the pics and all the text on these posts but it is another to be there in person to see for yourself. I for one am rethinking the way I need to start doing my roofs. I need a bigger pump! LOL. Good Job not only to you Chris but to your boys. They deserve a big pat on the back as well. It was good spending time with you and the guys.

Nice job Chris but why will it need rain is that grey shingle ...I my self will be doing a church with KJ PRESSURE WASHING as my assis. ...It will be a donation to the community for business has been good to us in these hard times ...I will post before and after pics rain or shine ..

If you look at the Church Jason, you will see it is an almost vertical surface.
We COULD have used a strong solution, but that is not our way.
Job One at Apple Roof Cleaning is to PROTECT the integrity of our customers roofs.
I have seen first hand the results of doing a shingle roof with tile strength or stronger chemical.

Since we use weaker chemical solutions, we need to maximize the dwell time.
How do we do that on a vertical roof ?
We THICKEN our cleaning mixture.

As you can see in the pictures Jason, the mix is almost white looking, and it sticks to the roof.

The "down side" to this is that it requires a LOT of rinsing.

OR, one really good rain !

That is nice of you guys to do some Charity Work.

This paticular job was not a charity, but we have done, and still do Charity Roof Cleaning .

My guys were trained by me, and clean roofs like I do.
You can be fast, and thorough too.
Good equipment will make you look good, and bad equipment can sometimes make even the best roof cleaners look bad.
As you saw, our equipment is made to clean roofs, since that is our business.
Thus, we can devote every single inch of the space on our trucks to cleaning roofs.

Oh, BTW, we got several calls from the parishioners and others who drove by, and saw how nice it came out.

What strength (%) of chlorine do you use in your mix for nasty Asphalt shingles?

I have cleaned whole subdivisions before, almost by myself.
There was a roof cleaner who had a small tank of 100 Gallons.
He was a nice guy, and we became friendly.
One day, I watched him do 3 roofs with only 100 gallons.
I asked him how he did it.
He told me "I simply fill my tank up with pure chemical, do a roof, add water, do another, and add water again !!!

I made a written note of the homes I watched him do with the straight chemical.
He "pointed with pride" to the homes he did with straight chemical, feeling they "looked cleaner", and that the customes done with straight chemical "got their moneys worth".

4to 5 years later, this subdivision got letters again, and I had a chance to see these roofs.
Every one of them had severe granule loss, a few so bad it was a wasted effort to clean them !!

We Seldom go past 35 percent for shingle, or 50 percent for tile, USUALLY.

On some white tile roofs, we will go a tad stronger, maybe to 60 percent.

Of course, this will be dependant on your pumps.

We prefer to clean with a lot of a weak solution, as opposed to a little of a strong solution.

But, to clean with a LOT of a weak solution, gotta have the big tanks, big hose, and higher GPM pumps it requires.
