It's just a matter of weather anyone there wants to hear about it.
First pic is his property. Right on Lake Ontario, just outside of Toronto.
Second pic is 1/2 hour after I sprayed the love, No rinse.

I wouldn't go anywhere near a roof like that. That's a liability claim waiting to happen. Sometimes when a roof has that much lichen and moss growing on it, the lichen and moss can be the only thing keeping it from leaking along other issues.

Soaped it standing from the pick-up box. Knocked it with a broom 3 days later, just in the one spot. There was a LITTLE resistance.
I'm thinking that if you spray it with the love (50/50). Leave it. And hit it again 3-4 days later.

leave it for 2-4 weeks. If that's the answer I can live with that. Charge for it.
Do u really think it takes that long ??????????????
Thanks Beth and Rod and........ for this site. I just keep learning.
4 weeks doesn't bother me. ( though it might some) I like resi because it pays right away. Most com accounts pay net 30. I have some that are 120 days. As long as I know that going in, I can charge/budget/& plan accordingly.

That is correct. The longer the better. You want the moss to be completely dead and let loose of the shingle on its own. I do an automatic 4 weeks after initial treatment but have done it as soon as 2 because the homeowner was in a rush. When I have done it that early not all came off which the customer understood beforehand and then I would spot treat areas that had a little moss left and leave it to come off on its own.
I have been meaning to do a time lapse film of the process for marketing purposes.

Just for anyone else looking for information on Shingle Shield......
I used it a few years back because I had a good friend who owned a roofing supply company tell me that this was the greatest roof cleaning chemical out there (Can you believe that?)
It is Sodium Hydroxide based and is a no no for shingles. He gave me a case of it at the time to try it out and I still have one gallon left. I think I might use the remainder for some deck strippingGotta use it for something.

I Apply from the ground. I have a little Honda 1 HP gas engine with a pump. I mix the chemicals in a 15 gallon drum and hook up the pump. That's it. After it has set up for 20 minutes of so I rinse it off with a garden hose.
Oh, I always run a garden hose in the downspouts so the SH gets diluted as much as possible. That stuff will burn the grass in a heartbeat if you're not careful.
I'm sure there are a hundred other ways to do the roof. What ever works for you, right?

With what I've learned in here, this thread and others. Shingle shield is a no no. Its a Sodium hydroxide based chem. I've been very very lucky. I'm going with Rick and others suggestion of Sodium hypochlorite. Spray on from the gutter line and rinse off! Washing a roof tomorow. I'll take some pics and let everyone see how it goes!
