Is there room in the house for two pressure pros? ;-) Look forward to seeing you guys there. I think Don is raising the bar on this one with a bit more formalized business meeting. I want to thank him publicly for inviting me to participate.

I am going to focus on marketing strategies that will help you dominate your marketplace. I'm also going to cover proper sales presentation, overcoming objections like "we want to get more estimates" and how to create buzz for your company on a shoestring budget.

If you already know what chemicals clean concrete and you can rebuild a pump but you aren't sure how to make your phone ring, this meeting is for you. Don't waste time, sign up now. Thirty five seats are going to fill up fast.

Yes, there is plenty of activity like casinos, bars etc. I would suggest Harrahs. It is about a 45 min drive from the hotel.

I'm not sure about before/afters yet. I know that my mom and dad are going to babysit my daughter so my wife and I can stay in the hotel on Fri night so we can greet guest, so forth and so on. I am sure we can arrange something for Friday night for us all to go out and have dinner. We we get closer, I will get a head count and make some reservations.

I hear Ken Fenner is planning a cardiovascular/motivational speech a la Tony Robbins. He'll be arriving on stage by swinging in on a rope wearing Spandex and headset, and working the crowd into a frenzy. He is getting a laser-whitening done on his teeth as we speak.

Good job setting this up Don--should be a great event, jf

LOL.. fast forward to rope collapsing and crowd breaking out in sponaneous dry heaves. I've been to enough of these things (motivational seminars) to know how to do a presentation but I doubt I'll be running up and down aisles generating applause.

PS: "How To Become A Millionaire in 24 Hours" books and tapes will be selling for $399.99 so bring cash.

You are absolutely right Beth, but this is typical for the St. Louis area based businesses. There is really no networking and, from experience, none of the businesses other than Rob Fitz and I do any referrals to each other. Tough place to do business and network.

I really don't think it's union mentality based. It's more like other pw's think that other companies are always out to underbid them and take business away. Little do they understand that 1) they are loosing all kinds of money by the underbidding they do already 2) they are loosing business in their areas of operation by not networking, hell you can't cover every area and county around here. 3) Most of them think they don't need to because they are the best and use the best chems (which 90 percent of the time come from home depot) and sealers (TWP is made here so the market is saturated with it). There are several, no numerous companies starting and quiting all the time here. Some homeowners have been royally "screwed" by these companies, so if you have the biggest add in the paper or yellow pages you are reputable. How more wrong can you get.

Every year I question the mentality of who gets what business. It never ceases to amaze me.

Rob Fitz and I refer our out of area bids to each other all year. Works out great. I know what type of professional job he does and pass that info on the perspective customer. The other businesses in the area could care less if they have any kind of working relationship with other companies.

Glad to see you back in the saddle. I have been busy in the woods this time of year. One more week of "in the woods" work to be had. Glad your still around. I may have a log home for you if we can swing the financing. Will keep you posted. Won't be soon, but it will happen.
