STL Round Table Spin Off!!! - Feb 26th, 07, 09:42 AM

THE 2007 S.T.L. ROUND TABLE SPINOFF

Where – Waterford, MI

When – Aug or Sept 2007 (still working on date) (it will be a weekend event)

Host – Me
Vendors – To be announced

C0 Hosts – Don Marler, Barry Maddox, & more to be announced as I contact them

Topics (so far) in no specific order are as follows –

Saturday

Accountability - Five contractors who attended the STL RT will volunteer to give testimonials about how they applied the concepts that they learned this spring and summer. They will share with everyone –
  • Which concepts they utilized
  • How they utilized them
  • Ways they might have tweaked them to fit their business model
  • The results
  • A comparison between their 2006 season and their 2007 season
  • What they liked about the concepts and what concepts they thought needed improvement
Marketing for residential work – We will give a more detailed presentation on this subject. (At STL RT, because of time constraints, I had to keep it short.)
We will tell you –
  • What forms of advertising I used in the past, my experience with them, and why they didn’t work.
  • What form(s) of advertising I use now and how & why it works.
  • Out of the box ideas for ads.
  • Out of the box ideas for receiving payment from customers
  • How to do residential work fast without sacrificing quality.
  • Out of the box ways to pay employees.
  • Proposal sheets – (It’s all in the details)
  • Answering the phone
  • Bidding jobs realistically
  • Qualifying
  • How to represent your company to the customer without even meeting them
(Way more to come for Saturday)

Sunday

I will put my money where my mouth is. I will charter a school bus and we will all go to three different residential jobs. A house wash, a deck strip, & a deck stain. These will be very close to each other. I will also try to do the house wash and deck strip at the same spot. This will allow everyone to see these processes and results for themselves.
I guarantee that all doubt about my efficiency methods will be removed.

Afterwards, we will all return for a nice catered dinner. Following dinner, we will close with a recap, and Q&A.

I had a loooooong slippery drive home last night from Don's RT. I had a lot of ideas rolling around in my head on the way home.

Don really started something special last weekend. He really raised the bar for round tables. With his help, and the help of others, this will eclipse any learning experience you have ever had.

You will leave with a forest fire under your a$$ for sure.

Thanks for yours & your wife's thoughts Scott. It was great hanging out with you two. Thanks for the offer to help out. As the event approaches, I'll contact you. I was thinking of you offering your Harley as a door prize or something.

Don's RT was awesome and it has raised the bar for future RT's. I think they will just keep getting better from here on out. Again nice job Don!!

I'm going up to see Jarrod next month and when I get back I'm going to implement his effecient deck cleaning techniqes and some other stuff I learned at Don's RT and I will give a testimonial at Jarrod's RT on how these techniques did or didn't help my business this season.

I'm sorry, whats your name? If I had known you were from Oregon we could have talked about up there. I used to live in Pendelton and Hermiston.

Wrong Oregon. Sorry Don for not signing, we did get a chance to meet. I'm new to the BB and learning by my mistakes. Rather do it here than a customers PW job! But just had to get on and express how informative the St.Louis RT was. Special thanks to you. You did a great job of putting it all together.
