Re-seal gutters - Nov 11th, 06, 08:05 AM

I had some cutomers ask me about re-sealing their gutters in the corners where it is leaking. What do you use, and do the gutters have to be dry to use the product. Also what do you charge to do the job 1 story and a 2nd story.

Your local hd or lowes will have a gutter sealant or seamer that comes in caulking tubes. You can apply it by directions which in most cases needs to be clean and dry.
Charge a flat rate for cleaning and add on the sealing to get your price.

We use Ruscoe 12-1 SeamSealer. It is the sealant we have been using for 25 yrs. No leaking corners... some of that has to do with how the corner is made. If the corner is a pre-fab box mitre... it will leak after a couple of years and it is hard to stop. This sealer can be applied when wet, but it takes a little more time.

Hope this helps.
